You can get Rozier, Hayward, PJ quality players in free agency two years from now if you really want them with a clean capsheet. It's not like we are losing big pieces by trading them off. Let the teams that need to win take them off our hands, reset, and get the same quality players when you want to win again later.
We have kind of a unique golden opportunity here. Step one is figuring out who is the long term core and who isn’t. We know Hayward and Rozier are not long term core pieces. PJ can be if it’s on the right deal, but it’s going to take restricted free agency for that to happen.
So we stay on the current path of tank while also gaining assets / flexibility and pieces that are more long term fits. This is the best scenario to have it play out. Heavily injured somewhat good teams have been turned into contenders by this happening. I’m not upset if we keep losing but I am upset if we get healthy in February and climb into the 9th worst record and treadmill land. 4-13 now, this roster isn’t close to healthy and is not built to go on a huge winning streak. Be smart, punt the ball and score a touchdown on the next drive.
