You realize they could just waive Kyrie, right? I don't think they give up anything of value to move him. If he had more than just this season on his contract it would be different.

Butler for Klay.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

Is PJ Washington a plus defender?
Can he play smallball Center at times?

If the answer is yes and yes, I say give up a pick and get him now.

Jovic > PJ > Precious

Jovic highest ceiling, PJ could make a jump here - great fit between Jimmy and Bam.

I believe this board is speaking PJ'S value into existence.

I'd have Jovic and Precious above him and they are the results of the first rounders many would be willing to part with to get him.

We cannot continue to spend draft capital unless the return is very obvious.

Heck, that 2018 pick we traded became Mikal Bridges, who I'd kill to have here.

Imo a deal with the hornets should involve PJ and at least one of Oubre, Plumlee, Rozier, or Hayward. Probably in that order for me. Could fix the front court there.

Plenty of teams out there that can fix our issues.

Id do it in a hearbeat...then turn around and offer the 3 FRPs plus the new 2 Frps a total of 5 plus Lowry and Herro for a wing superstar ie Durant. Then you got vincent, klay, Durant, Kuminga, Bam starting lineup.

I don't have faith in a 34 year old KD to turn us around anymore than Butler has already. We need an influx of youth instead of trying to roll with guys in their twilight years.

Give me Scoot or Victor with the remains of our roster and I will have something to look forward to.

They do this to placate KD. Lowry is someone he’s enjoyed playing with on the big stage, so this possibly keeps him happy through this season & next.

Lewis/Hayes/Graham/Temple/Daniels/LAL1st - 23 & 24 for Jimmy/Gabe
- allows them to keep Jimmy/CJ/BI/Zion/Val as a starting unit, then Gabe/Jones/Murphy/Nance/Hernangomez off the bench, plus the inevitable ring chasing buy-outs.

If we’re trading Jimmy, we should try to get something for Lowry as well. There is one team with a big enough contract, a friend/fan of Lowry and desire to improve: the Nets!

Kyrie/27 Phi 1st/28 1st for Lowry/Temple
- they get a guy to play PG & solid back-up vet guard while saving $5.5m, it only costs them a guy they want gone & 2 picks. If they want to haggle over the two picks then fine, keep one but give us Thomas.

Our trade then becomes:
Jimmy/Lowry/Gabe for Graham/Lewis/Hayes/Daniels/Kyrie/LAL 23 & 24/PHI 27/BKN 28
- we’d have to cut a regular contract to get it done, or have a landing spot for one of the players straight away. We don’t land the single “replacement” to Jimmy, but in this deal we get a lot of quality picks and youth.
I would see us “keeping” Kyrie until after the deadline (no playing, just paid holiday - like we did with Waiters & JJ), then buying him out when it’s too late to really help the Lakers make the PO. We end up with two high level picks this year and possibly next, while getting some pieces that Spo may be able to use in the meantime. Kyrie’s expiring deal allows us to dodge the tax for even longer, without paying back to offload Duncan.
We can sign Strus/Yurt to deals that will be super trade fodder in 2 years - so between them & Robinson we have a heap of salary to swap for a complementary max-level player to go with our new core.

Graham/Lewis/Kyrie (IR)
Herro/Duncan/Dipo
Strus/Daniels
Caleb/Jovic
Bam/Hayes/Yurt

That’s a team set to tank, and doing this early will allow for Robinson & Graham to be showcased before the deadline & accrue more picks/assets.

You are my hero.

Who is the max complementary player in 2 years? Give me some names.

All depends who we get in the draft, but either way we’re probably still looking at SF/PF - Tatum, Ingram, OG, Siakim, Markannen

We need to be all-in or all-out. We’ve played this game long enough to paint ourselves into a corner, a big change needs to be coming down the pipeline, one way or another

Yes. I think we have to be all in on being all out. These contracts were giving out to g leaguers and retired nba players is getting to be quite the black eye for us.

I trade everyone outside of Herro and Bam for draft picks. 1st rounders. 2nd rounders. Trade the rest for cap space.

It's too bad that we failed Jimmy Butler by not getting him enough talent after trading for him. He's been great for us. However, we've run out of time and talent for him. We need to go to the draft well and right this ship with affordable players.
