even when their record was worse it was obvious it's a matter of time
all this - "if the season ended today" is dumb and is just means to discredit Curry haha
obviously if the Dubs finish 0.500 he doesn't get it but obviously they won't (and everyone knows it) and as of rn - he is ahead
Luka is close, Tatum is close, Giannis is close but Curry is cooking
The Warriors still have a lot of guys underperforming in a stacked west that's incredibly close to each other. You might think it's obvious but you're still just guessing at best and projecting your fantasies at worst. All we have to go off right now is that Curry is the best player in the league so far but his team is just now .500 and not even in the play-ins yet. I'm going to wait for reality to catch up before annointing him MVP.
the reality is they had a rough start with the youngsters playing abysmally and Klay being unplayable
this isn't a 0.500 team of paper, right? they just won a championship the consensus was they will contend again this season, since they kept most of their rotation and certainly their core (losing some role players hurts but it's only temporary, DDV has really played well tonight for example)
it would be shocking if the Dubs don't make the playoffs, just because they are 10th after 1/5 of the season doesn't mean much when it's obvious that A.) Klay is still playable at the very least B.) no youngsters no probs (i'm looking at you Wiseman!) C.) they have the best player of this generation with multiple good pieces around him
The "reality" is we can assume and estimate the Dubs (if healthy) would be a 50+ win team and a HCA team
like a 90% chance of that
so waiting a couple more games till they're "officialy" 6th or 4th makes little sense
by you logic guys like Lauri and Mitchell etc. are "ahead" of Steph rn because their team's is in a top seed spot rn?
that's ludicrous, isn't it?
Steph has been the best player and together with Jokic has also been the one that's added the most wins to their team i.e - "most valuable"
Doncic has been amazing, Tatum has been great and he's got the "best player best team" going for him so he is a strong candidate thus far. why is that? because eveyrone assumes the Celtics would continue to be a top seed \ or best record (and rightfully so). Giannis and Jokic are always gonna be up there but as of right now - hell yeah, it's Steph
it's okay to assume things that are likely to happen

if u think it's likely the Dubs will finish the season 10th or that they wont be in the "play-in" as u put it well...A bridge, a sale..ya know how that goes
