The point of having games at the same time is to avoid rigged outcomes.
For example, let's suppose team A plays late; they know that if they win, they will face the 2nd position of group B, but if they draw, they will face the 1st position of the same group.
Obviously, in this scenario all team B games have already happened.
Now let's suppose it's better for them to face the 1st position (from the other group), they match up better with them and it's a weaker adversary as well.
So they go into the match knowing, in full advance, what result they need to have to face the adversary they want to face.
