These videos of Gallinari need to be taken with a grain of salt. Tom Brady tore his ACL in 9/2008 and was back in training camp ready to go and making throws in May 2009 - just 8 months later. Unfortunately, basketball players take an average of 11-12 months to get back because the demands are different. Gallinari looks good in these videos and probably could be ready to throw footballs and even be tackled by May…..but not yet be ready to help the Celtics in time for finals. Hope otherwise but gotta be realistic.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

I'm not sure I see the logic in that. Football is way more of a contact sport than basketball. In football, dudes are trying to beat the sh*t out of you on every play - and the rules allow them to do so.

Sports therapy and modern medicine are also light years ahead of where they were in May 2009..

We know it's a long shot that he comes back this season - just trying to keep a positive outlook.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Read on Twitter

Based on my doctorate in Google Medical University, running three months after surgery is not unusual. Gallo is a week away from three month timeline.

All I'm saying is that if Gallo isn't traded at the deadline, I'm going to talk myself into him having a chance to come back this year lol

Even though he 99% likely won't

10 month recovery for Joe Ingles from torn left ACL. Joe a year older but less mileage on those NBA legs.

A QB takes 3 small steps and gets hit or throws a ball. Take 1 minutes to pick yourself up and recover and your joints relax and recover. Then eventually do it over again unless you're handing it off, ect.

Basketball is constant explosion moves on the joints with endless stop starts and no breaks.

That why even when fully recovered you don't see the guys recover fully till a year AFTER the year of recovery (so 2 years post ACL tear). It's just really hard to hide that in basketball unlike in football which is more about strength and getting concussed in comparison.

But even in football for WRs and RBs it'll show up and take till the 2 years after ACL to get full explosion back even for 20 year olds. Like Breece Hall this year for example won't be fully back to what he was next year.

But Gallo is going to do a lot more, running, cutting and especially jumping compared to Brady. Apples and oranges I suppose, but football qb is protected and runs tight patterns. For kneee injuries I would expect that the dangers to reinjury is greater in bball due to incidental contact like coming down on another player’s foot, getting twisted in traffic, etc.

But I’m no expert, just spitballing here. These days it seems the tone is to err on the side of extended recovery, as it should be. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Gallo suit up in March though, as he looks really committed to the therapy.

Aug 27 is what the interwebs reluctantly tell me as the date it happened. 10 months = Jun 27th. Gotta make sure the Finals go long enough for him to play. Might have to toss a few games and not go 18-0.

I wanted Gallo to be Bruce Brown or Alec Burks and instead we’ve got a guy jogging on a treadmill. Hopefully he took the one catastrophic injury for the team this year.

“run” must mean something different in Italian. Rooting for him, but I let myself hold onto a Hayward return all season like an idiot in 2017.
