Springer has zero tools he has a couple of wood shaped hammers that will never evolve into anything.

Poor pick then and a poor pick now.

Joe when played 15 mins or more:

3P%
Rookie: 42.8% 21/49
2nd season: 37% 37/100

It’s legit better than whatever Korkmaz has put up. I seriously don’t get this club lmao.

I dont think its that simple.

You also have to consider the value of each tool relative to the overall picture (i.e relative to position, team and etc) that sometimes a single high valued tool player is more valuable multi low valued tool player

Then once you do that, you also have to how much is his impact to the team when he’s on the court, which for me is as important as his individual value.

Like for instance if you have Springer at the G position, you then take away a large chunk of offense which usually is distributed at the G position so it puts a lot of load to your F and C position to make it up (i.e Center to be able to shoot like a guard or F to be able to shoot and create as a guard, both are very rare traits for the both positions)

While a guy like Joe at the G position, may not provide you the defense of Springer but your F and C can easily make that up.

So with Springer, you’d alot of times be a handicap on offense while his defense isn’t that impactful compared to a good defensive F or C.

REPORT: The New York Knicks’ asking price for Cam Reddish appears to be a second-round pick or a player on a rookie contract with a different skill set.

Hmmm..

Not a fan of Reddish.

I wonder what Springer’s value could be

Look talent wise you have to do the deal. Springer’s chances of making it are very low.

Reddish if not for nothing has variant games. But when he’s good he’s certainly NBA quality

I mean we need wing depth and he’s pretty solid on defence.

Thybulle is on a rookie contract with a different skill set.

I’d trade for Springer for Cam without much hesitation, especially given the context that our player development capabilities are garbage.

so what you are saying is that we need to start photoshopping players we want in Rockets unis to trick Darryl into trading for them

If Springer could shoot 35% from 3, I struggle to see a reason not to play him. Unfortunately he's just not there. If Thybulle gets traded at any point, I think he's going to have a 10 minute role off the bench. His offensive ability is worlds better than Thybulle.

Him shooting 80+% from the FT line is definitely encouraging. Increased scoring marginally (15ppg to 18ppg)and is having a better 3 point shooting year (31% compared to 28%).

Korkmaz and Springer for Reddish is an easy yes.

Win some, lose some. Hit on Maxey. Miss on Springer. And I don’t think this team will be drafting again for awhile.

They do have Charlotte’s 2nd this year, which should be top 35. Wonder who they trade that for.

I know it's G League, but he's definitely turned a bit of a corner on the offensive end. Doesn't look as robotic and deliberate with his moves.

Watched that video, does Springer have any play making skill? Honestly he seems like a pretty useless offensive player. Even if his 3P% is fine I don’t see him ever being a volume shooter.

I’m starting to believe 3Pr is far more important than %. Of course the percentage comes first otherwise the player won’t have the green light to shoot, but there’s a lot of high percentage guys who are fools gold because they just don’t shoot them. No matter Springer’s % he doesn’t look like he can function as a spacer. He looks like an ISO specialist who’s not anywhere good enough to do it in the big league.

He’s good defensively but he’s not big enough to guard wings so then how impactful is he?

His rate of offensive improvement is far too slow for me to have any belief in him. He seems close to a finished product which is bad news.

The offensive framework just isn't there. He's probably a Nitlilokina type player at best. Probably doesn't have much of a future here so I'd expect he'll eventually get moved. Bad pick for Daryl.
