There's been multiple articles on advanced analysis on Dyson Daniels defensive impact and I don't think he's been mentioned in 15 pages.
Basically states he's an absolutely freakish rookie defender, he's one of the best perimeter defenders in the NBA at the moment, let alone among rookies.
If you need further proof, have a look at him defending Durant 1 vs 1 a few days ago.
Sure but in what context are you talking about?
That he doesnt get talked about in general enough? Or the fact that he isnt being talked about as a possible ROY?
If its the first part then I agree. He's been a really good perimeter defender for a 19 year old rookie and that definitely deserves its praise. But in no way do I think he should be in the conversation for ROY. There really is no debating on who has been the better rookie between him and say Paolo. Paolo is asked to do significantly more and he is living up to what is asked of him pretty well. While on the flip side, ya Daniels has been really good defensively, but he is also unplayable on the other end. In his last 10 games he is averaging 1ppg and 2 assists. His shooting splits in that time is 19/23/00.
But I agree just rookie talk in general, him and his defense should get some love.
