It never really dawned on me. But these combine measurements don't really tell the whole story. You got guys practicing these tests leading up to the combine just to score really high in hopes of jumping up in the draft. Much like in football.

I put OG and Barnes in that same category. From what I remember, they both scored really high in a lot of drills. But make them dribble and all of a sudden they look a lot less athletic.

Didn't Scottie score really high in lane agility? Once you add in the unknown of which way to go (aka guarding the ball), he looks slow.

Stationary athleticism vs functional athleticism.

What are you guys talking about? OG and Scottie have athleticism. They just lack handle / dribbling skills - which can be developed

Athleticism isn’t just “me dunk, me strong = athleticism”

Coordination, light feet, body control and balance are a function of athleticism as well.

Scottie has most of that aside from light feet, OG? Not so much.

How does OG keep quick players like Mitchell in front of him on defense if he didn't have light feet?

Scottie has coordination, body control and balance. Very heavy feet though.

OG has lateral quickness but is severely lacking in coordination, body control and balance.

They are “open” anything. But this isn’t new for Masai, he will always “listen”

How can this management be ok with one trade??

So they are ok with OG, Trent and Fred walking and getting nothing back? I guarantee neither of those three want to stay on this team anymore unless we are the only team severely overpaying them. If thats the case then this management group is out to lunch and needs to be replaced. They did the same sht with Ibaka and lost him in free agency for nothing, they didnt want to trade fred for PG and lost Kawhi, and they actually think Fred and Trent and OG want to stay here to build on what exactly?? No capspace after signing those three, and improve how? By having Scottie turn into prime Magic somehow. Yeah no one is that gullable, this team aint improving unless they trade multiple players or they lose all three and go into free agency if lucky maybe with with enough capspace to sign one piece. They are just stubborn and dont want to admit they fd up and its time to blow it up.

OG is under contract for the next season, after that he can decline his player option. So it's basically fred and gtj. Trade these 2 mfers

every player on the team is at or near their prime. the team is not lacking in talent. retool do not rebuild.

That's an argument for rebuilding.

On Fred, it's hard to imagine this FO let's him go. He seems to be an extension of them and the coaching staff, and the one in the room responsible for pushing the #culture onto everyone else.

There's been multiple times Fred has said he's been really hard on guys, and is trying to keep the levels up, etc., and I think it only works I'd you're actually playing well, which he hasn't. It's one thing when LeBron does it, its another when Westbrook does.

My hot take is that this is what's responsible for some of the friction in the room, and I think the coaches and FO would probably take Fred's side (given Masai already had to meet Scottie to dig into him). So I think Fred is a lock to stay unless he's being very unreasonable with his contract or has asked to go.

There's been talk of Scottie and Pascal not being able to co-exist. Which has some truth to it.

But what about Fred and Gary? Mostly I think they both, for their positions, hold onto the ball more than you'd like. With Gary being the worse offender.

If you lose both of them though, the team really won't have any shooting and guards at all.

Griffin loves Trey. That's a player that could help us and has upside.

There has already been a rift between FO and Fred when Fred said "So it wasn't really a direct conversation where somebody said 'you gotta get off the ball' but I've been around long enough to take a hint" in the Will Lou interview:

Then Fred complains his about role in the JJ interview. Why would Fred be airing these out if FO is trying to keep him happy?

I assume after the 114M/4 verbal offer was rejected, the FO pivoted

Griff will have to decide whether he likes Trey more or a better chance at a championship run.

Yeah that package without Murphy III is not good enough.

It always presents itself as fluidity in my eyes. You can see how Pascal has so much fluidity in his movements whereas OG does not, despite being very athletic. Scottie sits in between at the moment but should improve. I mean, he’s still potentially growing.

If Murphy's off the table, then Herb Jones needs to be on it. Pels may be frustrated with him anyway with all the time he's missed this season.

I don't see 2 promising players with team friendly contracts there. I see one promising player and 2 young guys players who have not panned out.
Trey Murphy, Dyson Daniel's and a first round pick (preferably the Lakers pick if it falls in the lottery).
