Actually it is pretty fun idea! Very relatable to anyone who played ball in local rec centre / courts at least once in their lifetime :)

East vs West was played out long before they changed it. It usually was lopsided. Also, having captains pick is a fun way to see who players think are the best players and in what order. This might be a cool idea for the pregame

I do agree that having the teams be picked out 30 minutes before the game is a really cool idea.

With that said, I still wish that we were back to the East vs West format. I was in favor of doing the teams being picked out by when it was so lopsided in the Wests favor, but the East has really made a comeback on the talent front. Durant, Tatum, Embiid, Giannis, Mitchell, these are the five best players in the East right now. Four of the five have legitimate cases for MVP this year, and the odd man out scored 71 points in a game at one point. The East is just loaded with talent and with how much better they are now, I think an argument exists for the East vs West format to come back.

Whoever gets picked last is going to go for MVP just to rub it in

What are the coaches gonna do? Aren't they redundant now?

It should be proper school yard pick. Like all the other guys up against the wall and start picking them to their face

It’s all star. Since becoming an uncompetitive exhibition, they never served a purpose other than making sure their players weren’t playing too much

Did they ever matter? it's a pick up game

This is great idea and having that motivation for some players depending on where they were picked should add another dimension.

C. I don't care because there is no point to the game anymore.

Next step, pick the guys on court before tip off.

Is anyone not tired of the draft? It was a nice gimmick for a year or two, but it doesn't add anything and can be awkward.

It's at least different. I'd like to see it once to see how it shakes out.

Not that I have a ton of passionate feelings about it in general.

I'm more interested in watching the Draft than the game itself. Can't wait for the "snubs" and ensuing lulz.

I like the idea, but it would've made more sense to have the draft take place once Friday night when everybody arrives at All Star Weekend. It props up the weak Friday Night and still provides everybody with the ability to have/view those All-Star practices to create additional intrigue.

Curious how the practices work, would it just be everybody in the gym together?
