Theres enough out there about Fred's game that indicates that the Raps should move on but bringing up an excerpt from a book released 2 years ago without context is not it.

Can't we keep it to basketball talk and stay away from the drama? We're beyond Forderon levels of conjecture on Fred at this point.

Wait… this is actually being used as a reason OG might be asking out. I thought that was a joke.[/quote]

:starwars

It’s not unreasonable to consider that if it was bothering him back then, and it is clearly still happening, that it’s something that could still be bothering him.

Are we saying it’s the only thing that’s bothering him and maybe causing him to leave?

No

Is it reasonable to speculate that it might be contributing?

Yes

Are you being unnecessarily dismissive?

Yes

It's pretty clear FVV is the issue on this team, GJT, OG, Barnes, none of them want to be around him.

None of this speculation is reasonable.

I’m all for Fred going away either at the trade deadline or this summer but did we really need the 20th new reason to hate Fred thread?

tWo things...

(1) The incident referred to in the book happened 4+ years ago; and
(2) OG can still barely run and dribble in a straight line lol

If FVV is the reason we may lose OG, then that's poor management on Masai's part.

FVV should be a spot up shooter. If he's not willing to adapt to that role, it's time to move him. FVV is a really good player - though less so when his shot isn't falling - but if I have to choose going forward it's OG who stays, no doubt.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Embarrassing reaction from Fred Fanboys.

I simply shared an excerpt from our coach's book pertaining to two of our players.

It was an interesting share for several reasons and definitely worth a discussion.
Unfortunately, a bunch of emotional users got their panties caught up in a bunch.

Baiting. This isn’t necessary or constructive.

No, but it could be one of the reasons why OG is reportedly upset with his role. Maybe he doesn't want to take a backseat to Fred and doesn't appreciate a lesser player demanding the ball from him all the time.

The event occurred.

The insistence it’s a sure fire issue between Fred and OG and a leading reason for OG wanting out is made up.

Could be. Maybe. Possibly. Who knows If something that happened 4 years ago is a problem now. Or was even a real problem back then or just a small moment.

At this point we’ve heard that Fred is an ego maniac, manipulative, has been unfaithful, has intentionally sabatoged teammates, has formed a veteran cabal, is jealous of Siakam, has issues with Barnes and Trent, and now is a leading cause for OG maybe possibly wanting out (I’m sure I’ve missed a handful of other unfounded claims).

Being gently dismissive is a pretty generous reaction.

What plays can OG run with the ball in his hands? If OG is upset that he thinks he can run the offense better than Fred he's super delusional and Masai would be the one making the calls around the league to get him out of town. This excerpt from several years ago indicates he was upset that Fred was limiting his transition opportunities, which was at the time the only way he could score aside from putbacks and open 3s. I remember going into that season Nurse was relaying that OG was asking him how he could get his ppg up and Nurse mentioned transition. OG is almost definitely looking to expand into a legit scoring option because that gets you paid and I can see why he would be frustrated if Fred kept taking those opportunities away from him. It's debatable if this lingered, as we now see OG bring the ball up the floor when he pulls the rebound.
