OG + Birch = Holmes + Murray + 2 first round picks

Sacramento gets a big upgrade at SF, especially on the defensive end with OG. Birch replaces centre depth lost by trading Holmes.

Toronto solves its centre issue for the the next 1-2 seasons and picks up a solid young prospect in Murray. The Raptors also get two future firsts since OG is easily the most talented player in the trade (right now, Murray looks pretty good).

I'd love that trade, but I'm positive 2 1sts is too much on top of Murray. We're one of few teams where Holmes would be trade-positive, so it would be uard to argue needing more value for taking him on, and with how Murray has looked so far this year - I think we'd have a hard time selling the Kings on a straight OG for Murray deal on it's own given contract status, injuries, etc. Just getting to the playoffs is like a championship to the Kings given where they've been at, so I don't think they're aiming at the title without some more reworking this summer after seeing how they stack up come playoff time.

If we move OG, I'd love it to be for a package like this but I just don't see it.

That's a fair assessment. To be honest, I'd do that trade straight up without any picks if it was available. I added the picks because people always crap on ideas because we aren't getting enough picks back.

FVV to Orlando one seems the most likely out of these 3 options.

I'd do Fred for Bamba + Suggs + pick

Reunite Scottie and Suggs (they are good friends) but not sure Masai/Bobby since Suggs did pretty bad in Predraft workouts

i'm sure if Suggs allowed him to work out for Orlando they probably wouldn't have had drafted Suggs either. I think Suggs only worked out for the Raptors from what I heard. Orlando was none the wiser thinking they couldn't get him and didn't bother doing a 1 :1 with him

Atlanta was supposed to be an ECF contender, but they are looking more like a play-in contender.

They have expendable young depth at multiple positions, along with salaries and picks to make a strong offer for OG Anunoby, who might be the perfect 3rd wheel to Trae and Dejounte.

I’m a little puzzled why we haven’t seen more Hawks proposals recently, because they’re the perfect team to make such a move.

Hawks have the following young assets to dangle:

Prospects:
AJ Griffin, Onyeka Okongwu, Jalen Johnson

6 Picks in the next 2 years:
ATL ‘23 1st, ATL ‘23 2nd, NOP ‘23 2nd (top 45 protected), and
SAC ‘24 1st (top 10 protected), OKC ‘24 2nd, ATL 2nd (if falls within 31-55)

I know we have a long running Anunoby thread, but it would be interesting to see some Hawks-Anunoby specific proposals, as there can be several variations.

Here’s a proposal from me:

OG Anunoby & Juancho Hernangomez
for
AJ Griffin & Onyeka Okongwu, ATL ‘23 1st (top 18 protected) + salary (Justin Holiday)

You could play around with the protections on the pick so that it feels right, and if it doesn’t convey, it converts to 2 2nds.

New Hawks:

Trae / A Holiday / (Dejounte)
Dejounte / B Bogdanovic
Hunter / J Johnson / (OG)
OG / J Collins / Juancho
Capela / F Kaminsky / (Collins)

Raptors will likely make further trades as they will punt on this season. They would dangle everyone from Trent, Fred VV, Thad Young, and Chris Boucher, with the aim to reload and come back next year.

Threw it out there as a concept but realize now we'd need more. Don't let it effect your wellbeing. The idea was getting unprotected picks. But I admit it is not near enough. So many teams have no ability to trade their future 1sts because they owe a protected pick. Knicks have a bunch of those picks. Do a trade with them that includes that pick and then another with that team to lift protection so future years can be traded. Maybe something similar with the Wiz instead of Dallas but get Deni and their '23,25 unprotected with Barton expiring.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Fournier is a big swallow, but the picks aren't bad. Maybe throw in a couple more Raptor salaries and take on a maybe like Toppin.

I would really rather the picks than anyone else on the team not named Quickley or Grimes.

Sure, but if the Knicks offer the best draft compensation, and it's deemed sufficient, you may have to take Fournier to satisfy the CBA. It's all part of a balancing act between positive and negative assets in trades. In the end, Masai and Baby have to decide which offer for which player or players has the best net positives.

I think Fournier plus frp plus quickley for Trent makes a lot of sense. Add in rose and we add in Thad plus porter. We replenish our bench adding in backup pG SG and forward. And then Fournier is our dragic like contract next year.

If OKC is interested in OG, Jalen Williams would be an excellent pickup.

Can OG play the 2? Orlando is in desperate need of a 2. Is Toronto looking for picks and young talent?

As an ORL fan, I'd happily trade

Chi '23 (Most likely in the 8-12 range)
ORL '24 (Top 4 protected)
Den '25 (Top 5 protected)

Would anyone object to the Raptors getting some bench players that could shoot the three? Brooklyn nets: have patty mills, Seth curry?

Dallas would be a great team for Fred, spotting up for Luka dishes.

Hardaway Jr + Hardy + Powell + DAL 2024 frp
for
FVV + Thad + Juancho

Gives Dallas some size and another star caliber player in Fred to help Doncic. Raps bring in Hardy who can be a nice 6th man type player down the line, and (likely) a late first next year. Powell is expiring and THJ can be traded later or re-routed to a 3rd contending team for more value.

I'd rather avoid long term salary if it isn't going to come with adequate compensation

That’s fair. Flip THJ to the nets for Joe Harris and PHI 23 frp. BKN gets the more productive player for their chip run, we get Harris who’s a large expiring next year and a late 23 frp.

Defensively he can. Offensively he cannot. OG is an elite 3-D guy that you occasionally give an iso or post touch to keep engaged.

If you want a SG from Toronto then that’s Gary Trent Jr.
