What's funny is fans arguing that Embiid-Jokic duel in Regular season doesn't matter, but then point out that Embiid avoids Jokic in the Altitude in the Regular season, so in that case suddenly it matters?

Jokic stayed out on the perimeter, trying to pull Embiid out of the paint. It was funny, in the 2nd half, the number of times a Denver player drove past his defender only to drive in and out of the box as Embiid made a move to pick him up. That D was key.

Butler, prime Simmons (basically Great value LeBron), peak Redick, superstar Harden, star Maxey.

Jokic has never had an all star teammate btw.

This post actually made me laugh tho, well done.

It’s a miracle the Sixers didn’t 3-peat with Peak Redick & Great Value Lebron lmao

Embiid dominated the back to back MVP.

The key word is "seemingly"; since you haven't looked into it in any depth.

In their 7 games head to head against each other:

Game Score, which captures nearly everything:

https://captaincalculator.com/sports/basketball/game-score-calculator/

Jokic has a Game Score of 19.7 against Embiid, career.

Embiid has a Game Score of 18.9 against Jokic, career.

Also, the 76ers have had a significantly better team, overall, than the Nuggets during Jokic' and Embiid's respective careers. Hence the team record discrepancy.

They've also only played head to head twice in the last 3.5 years.

Again with this BS trope that Jokic is "exploited" and "weaknesses exposed" offensively in the playoffs.

Guess how many players in NBA history have averaged 26/11/6 in the playoffs, career? ONE PLAYER. Jokic.

And he's done it shooting .396% from three with a .609 TS%.

NBA.com hasn't posted the matchup data yet. I will post it when it becomes available. :D

What hilarious about this is at the end of the game he showed who he was. Embiid flopped and never got back on D, which allowed Denver to get a wide open three. Then he passed it around and got bailed out by PJ tucker, who was also guarding Jokic btw at the end and then he hit a step back three when there was no more pressure on him.

Also we get it, Embiid fans dont get to post a lot come playoff time so they have to get it while they can lol

He scored 5 consecutive points since the game was tied at 110, but whatever helps you sleep at night I guess.

Embiid also hit like 8 huge shots in the 4th. And Jokic had multiple huge TOs in the clutch too, and he was generally the one caving to pressure late last game. You’re right that Embiid often plays weird under pressure but you can’t just spew loose narratives over and over for every situation.

(Just reread your post—why is it that only one play mattered and had real ‘pressure’ on it? Embiid hit that step back with the Sixers up 5 with 40 seconds to go, so that was BS but him not scoring when they were up by 6 with 130 left was the real pressure situation? Stop straining so much, a player can be faulty and still really good.)

Ngl, I expected you to get annihilated in this thread after I read that on the first page. Even on the gb I was a little shocked that got you like 5 and-1’s and it took 3 pages for someone to say ‘wait did you call Ben Simmons ‘great value Lebron’?’

Also don’t want to ignore your work calling last years Harden a ‘superstar’ and implying that ‘prime Redick’ (33-34 years old on Philly btw) was some profound force who blows current Murray, Porter, and Gordon out of the water. Top quality ish-post.

Of course it doesn't matter, its not deciding anything, a none conference game at the end of January . And yes he's ducking playing in Denver and that game in Denver will have more meaning because its going to be played toward the end of the season and there will be even more talk about MVP race. And if Embiid dominates Jokic there too, Embiid could win MVP award right there, take it from Luka's hands. But I am sure he wont play in that game, because he's always scared playing there.

Threads like this are even funnier after watching Embiid's post-game comments about how he likes and respects Jokic. Both these guys have nothing but positive things to say about each other but the fans hate each other lol.

This guy made the interesting video. I am sure the next game they put Tucker on Jokic he will drop 30+ points on him. Jokic was doing good against Tucker when he played for Houston and the couple of times with Bucks and Miami. And Tucker only was on Jokic in the 4th quarter, Jokic got himself out of the game, he just didn't take the shots in the third quarter, even when he was alone under the basket.

So the two time MVP should have dominated if Embiid wasn't guarding him? What happened?

Jokic wasn't into that game as much as Embiid, for Embiid it was game 7 of the NBA finals, look at the ESPN preview of the game from Friday , for Jokic it was just another regular season game on the road. Now I condemn that approach by Jokic but it is what it is. I am sure it would have been different approach by Jokic if this game was in the play off setting.

A lot.

Read on Twitter

If they play in a finals the Harden/Embiid pick and roll will be really hard for the Nuggets to stop.

I watched the game and I completely forgot how many point he scored on Jokic, looks like he got a majority of his points by taking Jokic’s lunch money.
