His range is unlimited plus he can finish at the rim.. we should be bagging this kid

Can create off the dribble. Get it done Masai

Lol as someone that's watched a lot of Bones Hyland the past 2 years. It's objectively hilarious people stylistically want to move away from Fred. But then seeing love for Bones who shots around 40%, is an atrocious defender, and also doesn't pass. Now I'm not saying Bones won't get better or cause he will. But he's the type of player that also needs the ball and would be taking touches away from Scottie as well lmao.

Bones does not have a big role on that deep Nuggets team and hes putting up good numbers not always having the ball in his hands....So he does not need the ball all the time to put up numbers....Infact he only plays like 20 mins a game atm and is still showing flashes of being an elite offensive player...

Ofc he has alot to work on but it seems many people are allergic to offensive stars around here....People said the same thing about Donovan Mitchell in the offseason...."Oh hes a good offensive player but won't lead the team anywhere cause his defense is horrible" But now look at Donovan Mitchell prolly one of the best guards in basketball and the Cavs future looks crazy good....

Defense is important ofc but offense is arguably more important in todays NBA especially 3pt shooting....

FVV is a good player but hes on the wrong side of age and hes been injury prone....Bones is 22 years old and can grow with Barnes...Already has a more polished offensive game than some players at 27-28 in the NBA....He clearly needs to add weight though but in time that can be fixed....

Personally would not mind getting an offensive firepower like Bones here if you can avoid a steep price....What they are looking for is a big depth defender so its tough to say we could even give them that but i bet whoever gets Bones will be happy about it in the future...

Bones is being shopped by the Nuggets partly because they don't think they can play him in the playoffs. You're underselling the defensive deficiency. Only way you bring him in is if the price is right and you plan to utilize him as a 6th man.

I love Gary Trent Jr. BECAUSE he is a gunner...on a team that is a horrible shooting team...he is our best shooter.

If people hate Gary Trent Jr....the knives will be out for Bones Hyland if he ever becomes a Raptor.

1. Bones can create offense for other with his dribble - his Assist% is 21.5% career. Whereas GTJ only creates offensive for himself and not much of handle - his Assist% is 7.4% career. That's a big difference

2. Bones is on a rookie deal due to 2.3M and 4.1M next two years. Whereas GTJ is looking for around 25M for the next two years. That's a big difference

Bones being a matchup exploitable doesn't matter to a rebuilding team (about to be) like us. GTJ is the same defensive liability (to a lesser extent), and got abused by Bridges last night. But you still keep that asset, and develop it / grow it to increase the total on-court value of your team. Bone is a better asset than GTJ because he has equally good 3pt shot and better handle / offensive creation off the dribble, and only costs 2.3M and 4.1M next two years. It's arguable that Bones trade value is on par with GTJ trade value right now

Pels losing 9 in a row doesn't help us get Dyson or Trey III at all
@ DAL, LAL, SAC, they might lose the next three too

Maybe Nurse is the problem then. He had no problem giving Patrick McCaw 6th man minutes.

I wonder if the Suns would do a Saric for Boucher trade, I don't want his contract to stick around with us. He's not a good partner for Achiuwa off the bench. We need a shooter that can space the floor for our starters more than a hustle big.

I feel like a lot of you watch highlights when you say things like Hyland would be great for this team and don't actually watch Denver.

The Raptors do not need another sporadic offensive player who does not play any defense, especially at point guard. He's a good bench piece but that's about it.

It's ironic. Ever since CJ opened his mouth about our team, they haven't won a game since.

Maybe that team needs to send its young 'unhappy' players over our way + picks and we can send our 'unhappy' Fred or OG.

9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Kinda feel like that could be this years Norm/GTJ trade.

Maybe it doesn't, maybe it does. Is Pelican management going to go to Zion and say, "well we stood pat this year, in order to hold onto some future draft assets and rookies who may take 2-3 years to contribute meaningfully. Sorry we didn't improve, and now we may not even make the play in, but maybe next year you can play your first playoff game in your career."

They are 2.5 Ws from homecourt and 2.5 Ls from deep lottery territory. If they make the playoffs and hold on to the Lakers lottery pick, they look smart. If they miss the playoffs because they were so desperate to not give up that Lakers pick, and then they wind up with both picks outside the top 10 and missing the the playoffs again? They are going to look pretty stupid.

They have been a disaster since losing Zion. Atleast ingram is back now but they really need Zion to play if they are going to be competitive.

Zion is injured. Ingram just came back from and an extended period of time as well. Once Zion is back they make a run...but if they are serious about the playoffs then doing nothing at the deadline doesn't make sense.

Hard to sell the fans and Zion if they don't make a win-now move at the deadline.

Suppose we went after:

Nurkic
Hart
Sharpe

For

OG
And what?

Thoughts on taking on Nurkic? I think he’s got the play making abilities in the post, plus a potential force to make other teams have to double team.
