Denver has always wanted OG Anunoby to pair with Jokic since last season and this year rumors have been floated. You look at how good Aaron Gordon has become, OG gives them a real shot a title. Denver has no real draft capital, so it would have to be a deal for players, but luckily Denver has guys on long-term or rookie deals.

There is a huge risk to take on MPJ at his salary, but when healthy he is an elite scorer and only age 24. Bones Hyland is not the defender Trent is -- not even close, but he is a dynamic scorer. Braun is a really nice two-way prospect to add and the 2029 pick will have value once Jokic is done.

To me this is a no brainer for Denver if they want the title now. Toronto adds some guys to space the floor for Scottie, and can compete now if we retain Siakam.

Nah Porter is injury prone and on a terrible contract, and Bones although offensively intriguing is a nightmare on defense, and there are reports of some character issues.

Porter Jr. is an injury risk for sure but I see the 50/40/80 and the fact that Denver is such a pass heavy team, he could easily be a 22-25 PPG scorer on Toronto. I do think Denver has a smart front office and doesn't think the injury issues with MPJ will persist in his career, otherwise why risk maxing him out?

I don't know about Bones having character issues, but he was a great scorer in college and his game has translated well to the NBA. He just is a bit limited in the Denver system.

Overall, I am just curious about this deal because of Masai's history with Denver, their interest in OG and short title window. While MPJ and Bones aren't defensive players, they are more ballers like Scottie is. I think Toronto lacks that kind of creativity.

When they took Sharpe, I assumed he would be traded. Doesn't match Dame timeline, Simons is blocking him.

I don't see Sharpe that way long-term. He was BPA and killed in his draft workouts. Simons is more of a scoring PG but has to play a different role with Dame. Sharpe is a classic SG. Sharpe and Simons should work well together in time, and Dame is probably at the end of time with Portland if they don't start making a run for the title this year.

It would be one huge gamble to draft a lotto player for a future trade. Too much risk in that type of planning.

It's important to remember with MPJ that Jokic really makes life easier for him as well. He doesn't have much of a handle at all so he doesn't create a lot of his scores. He gets 78% of his 2 pointers assisted on and 93% if 3s.

Probably overstaying my welcome here but if I was Toronto, I'd shed FVV, re-sign GTJ, and I'd hold on to OG+ to buy instead of sell, sort of like the AD deal and their play for Durant last summer. Someone amazing is going to get disgruntled soon, it's the NBA. Luka's already given the Mavs a timeline.
