My only issue with tradings for Naz is that it will just be a rental. But it also makes sense for the owner if he wants to stay below the tax

I think Minnesota is trying to shop him because he wants to get paid and we cannot give him too much money next season either

The thing with Noel is that there's no way a guy playing 11.4 mpg on the 2nd worst team team in the entire NBA is getting on the court with us. Doc will just keep playing Harrell.

Then what is the point of any of this?

Could Colangelo be next?

Honestly, there might not be a point. Ultimately, how many playoff mpg are we even talk about, with a reserve big?

A traditional big, even if they unseat Harrell, is going to play less than 10 mpg in the playoffs. Things get a little more interesting if they plan on shaving 10 or so mpg off Tucker and plan on giving all Harrell's reserve C minutes to this target. Because then you have a guy playing a meaningful 20 mpg role. I guess that would be the plan if they acquired Vanderbilt.

A collection of the rumored names I've seen so far:

Jarred Vanderbilt
Naz Reid
Nerlens Noel
Andre Drummond
Alec Burks
Terrence Ross

I think the point is to be able to give Embiid some breathers without the other team going nuts on offense. Ideally, as you mentioned, they find somebody that can play alongside Embiid. With their lack of assets, I'm not expecting much though.

Isn't Noel doing like 9 millions too? we would need to send like 3 guys to get him.

Looks like a stupid move IMO

Considering our primary objective is to duck the luxury tax, I don't see us bringing in Noel's $9M+ salary.

Why, so Glenn can play him every third game in garbage time?

Since they got Dinwiddie, wonder if they'd trade Curry and would they Sixers have interest in bringing him back.

Ha! Exact question I've been asking going through this thread.

Seriously, the only backup center I can picture Glenn possibly giving any real time to over Harrell is Drummond.

The big question now is what Durant is going to do, because beyond this season I can't imagine him going forward with the group they have now. What a dumpster fire that organization has been going back to getting fleeced by Ainge.

Durant and Irving probably came up with this trade request scheme together. Durant was probably like "Kyrie, demand a trade so they reluctantly offer you an extension to keep us both happy."

And the Nets were like "okay, see ya, doofus."

Don't think the Nets did poorly in the deal. Dinwiddie and DFS are solid players. Was hard to get good value for a nut like Kyrie who's expiring.

Massive win for Dallas, Kyrie is the 3rd best player in the league after Embiid and Doncic, they are now huge favourites to win the title.
