Any kind of deal for our players would need to be centered around Claxton being given in return. They don't have anyone or anything I'm interested in except Claxton and their very distant 1st round picks.

Yeah this sounds more like it to me. The Nets have one asset outside of KD and that's Claxton. If you get neither, you move on, unless they want Flynn or Boucher or something.

The "build around KD" narrative misses on a few points:

1. They traded down in skill.

2. Simmons

3. KD doesn't owe the Nets or Joe Tsai anything.

4. He's going to miss time, it's negative equity.

And what if KD doesnt want to stay on a team with Simmons and Spencer. You can choose to believe what you want, I just dont think the package BKN got for Irving is convincing KD that Brooklyn is where he wants to be for the next 3 years.

BKN will get more value before the news of KD wanting out comes out either soon or in the summer.

The Nets as constructed are not beating Celtics or Bucks, and KD knows that. This is his legacy we are talking about and no way he wants to finish his last days with the Nets. People are all acting like Irving got traded for Luka and Durant should be happy.

Plus Masai doesnt want these picks with scraps. He wants legit guys. Claxton is that guy and we already showed interest last year.

It's just in response to the rumors of Brooklyn showing interest in acquiring our players and the Raptors having showed prior interest in Claxton. If they don't want to give up Claxton then the rumors really mean nothing unless some kind of 3 team trade is worked out.

While this looks good to me, I feel this is not how Masai would do to build a team. He prob prefers rookies or sophomores that our scouting team likes, instead of half-a-decade-long option contracts

Celtics better be doing everything it can to get KD. They'd be extremely hard to beat if they were able to get him. I don't think they will make the same mistake they made in 2018 when they didn't pursue Kawhi. That decision cost them a championship.

I think the only two are Jakob and Delon.

Because all they'd have to do is swing that Dallas FRP to San Antonio and they can bring in Poeltl to replace Claxton. In playoff terms, Claxton is an easily replaceable part.
