Was really funny reading posts about Cam Thomas earlier and making proclamations about his ceiling when he's barely played regular rotations minutes and is currently proving what he can do when given minutes while only being 21. Obviously the more he plays the more comfortable he will become play making. His defense can also come along hes 6'3 on a strong frame with a 6'7 wing span.

The sad thing is, there is no player wasting on our bench who could conceivably come in and score like Thomas is now. Or even get 20 three straight games

What business do Raptors fans have judging a 21 year old who is clearly able to put the ball in the hole when we have NO ONE on that sad-ass bench of ours that could step up and do that.

But ya...we're all about the defensive minded players and yet...our guys get torched on defence on the regular as well.

Cam is as good offensively as he is as bad defensively.

I'll take it a step further.
He's hot and being fed the ball right now, over time will normalize.
But his defense issues are real. That ain't no cold streak we're seeing out there.

Again I'm not sure why every player needs to be evaluated on defense. Not every player has to be some 2 way threat. Like I've already pointed out many times we literally built a team based around supposed elite defenders and our defense still sucks. People are far too obsessed with defense. It's weird that every offensive player has to be discredited by their defense. If the guy is Michael Jordan offensively but a sieve defensively someone will talk about "do not want he doesn't play defense." But it it's someone like fvv his offense can be absolutely abysmal, but someone will find a way to point out how hie defense makes up for it. Defense is not more important than offense. At some point people need to realize it's okay to have some players that are not 2 way specialists. That's why it's a team sport.

Suns are running all their staggers and Spain actions against him and he’s so lost. But cool he can make some buckets.

Id rather take a chance on a top tier scorer learning how to play acceptable defence than a top tier defender learning how to shoot.

Why are people so defensive about Cam? Dude is a bucket, but he also gives up lots of buckets. I think it's fair to point this out. Doesn't mean he isn't good or wouldn't be valuable player to have on the Raps.

If traded my guess would be LAL.

With Rui, I'm not sure if they can sign Kyrie outright, not to mention there's rumours he might sign a 3 year extension (although incredibly doubtful he lasts there that entire time). Actually wouldn't be surprised if the Lakers later tried to trade DeMar + Rui etc for Kyrie later if he inevitably worked his way out of town in short time.
