The Lakers season depends on A.D and you know he can't stay fit and he doesn't look like himself. For those worried about the Clips getting Westbrick, do you really think he cares about winning a chip when he only cares about himself and is a known cancer where ever he goes? I'll take my Suns winning against those teams in the playoffs. Guys stop worrying

If you think Craig, Shamet, and Payne count as better depth than Vandy, Beasley, and Russell you probably bought NFTs

It's not about the Lakers its about US and how we did not bolster our paper thin roster.

A 2027 1st from LA would beat any 1st the suns can offer. Everyone assumes they will suck when LeBron leaves. So to beat that you're trading 2 1sts and since next years is looking like it's in the 20s that has limited value.

Yeah, even if we gave one unprotected it likely doesn't have nearly as much value unless our whole team is injured one year.

Not specifically defending Jones but just because a deal took place doesn't mean every other GM not involved took an L by default

It’s not a stretch to say your competitor’s Ws are your Ls. Jones is in direct competition with these other western conference executives to win a championship. The Lakers getting better reduces our window at least a little bit.

Fair perspective

No phone Jones strikes again... or rather he doesn't and our division rivals get the players we should have been able to get.

They got better and we're still stuck with a bunch of dead weight. Why the hell is Jae Coward still on the team?

They didn't get that kind of value based primarily on the pick though! I mean clearly it was from Westbrick's expiring giving them upwards of 61 million (the most of any team in free agency)!! They'll now be able to take back significantly salary to facilitate high end deals and even more inclusionary assets! Especially when teams finally reflect on more severe tax penalties once the CBA is finally set and teams start to panick a bit over the LT penalties and start dumping salary.

Not over yet but this KD obsession has really put us in a bad position

i think the Suns think they can get Gordon for less than the Utah package cost and then whoever they trade Crowder for and call it a trade deadline, i think Ishbia's comments about being a championship contending team signaled that kind of approach yesterday.. i don't think either the Suns or Lakers are contenders atm and don't think there was much chance of providing Utah better value than they got with this trade unless we offered 2 firsts and took on Conley's contract for all expiring contracts..

It was stupid then and hasn't changed at all. I won't be surprised to see Jones think he's getting something done for the better but to instead he'll set the team back because we won't have any depth nor flexibility moving forward.

The time to make an aggressive push is now.
Tap into whatever is left of CP3, and take advantage of Booker prime and Mikal's rise.

By the time we make a big splash, CP3 will be splashing in Cancun, and we will be further away from the chip.

JJ seems to have forgotten we were 2 wins away from the Championship in 2021. It seems we have not done anything to improve the team since. What a waste.

Can we convince Ainge that he needs another $18 mil in cap space and another 1st round pick? If he is in such a generous mood, maybe we could sneak Markannen out of there and help him get Wemby.

Maybe the Nets wont trade us Durant but wouldnt hurt to ask about Dinwiddie.

If the Lakers really suck and jump into the top 4 in 2027, the pick is not only protected, but the Jazz then get a 2nd instead.

D Lee is more a back up 3, Gordon can handle pg duties if needed and has more shot creation to his game actually compliments d Lee well.

marginal at best, but i think they think he is and can play combo guard.. i think its dumb and wish we had found a way to get Vanderbilt and an upgrade at backup point guard, i just can see why Utah preferred what they ended up over anything we were willing to offer them

I wouldn't trade a 1st for Gordon but would if it were Gordon and Martin Jr who I know the Suns like a lot.
