THANK YOU!

A gentleman, a terrific cog, a very solid strong piece for us.

Explains why he seemed to be playing in a fog lately. He knew it was coming.....

Was hoping he would agree to an extension as part of a deal so we would get more but whatever. Not sure what Toronto is doing if he is just a rental.

Is that Birch guy going to get bought out? Haven't heard anything. It might be a case of getting better picks if the player coming over was not someone we would actually keep like with the DJ trade.

So we have a protected 2024 1st, and two 2nds. We have to see what the protection is on that 1st still. So PATFO's stockpiling picks and saving money.

They now have Jakob's Bird Rights so they can sign him to a new contract and still going over the cap. But he'll still be UFA and we'll still have a ton of cap space, soo... who knows...

We are very sharp sword about deals now, not sentimental. The direction is clear. I feel kind of sentimental about it all, though. They guys were so tight in our locker room. You could feel the resonance of the deal rippling through our locker room. He was an important glue guy for us. Hopefully Collins steps up all the more as he has been. Now we can call up Bassey, too...

A part of me was hoping the Spurs were going to keep Jakob. He was fully develop under the Spurs and has improved over the years versus where he was when he was first traded to the Spurs. In a crazy way, it feels like the Spurs did Toronto's dirty work by developing his game only to trade him back to T-Dot, the team who originally drafted him in the first place.

That said, it was good to have Jakob as a Spur for a few years. I wish him the best as he returns to T-Dot. As for the Spurs, hopefully they can tank hard enough to get Wemby in the upcoming draft later in June. Continue the tank and keep it forward.

Congrats on the deal guys.

What do you guys think about Zach Collins? Will he be getting most C minutes (think they were roughly splitting with Poeltl getting a bit more)? Can he go over 30mpg?

Seems to be a good per-minute producer but unsure of how he'll be as a starter.

How does this affect Sochan?

I doubt Collins can go that high in minutes. He is one of those players that are ok in small doses but give them too much rope and they hang themselves. He is playing well for us IMO but he is also foul prone and would foul out most nights. He has fallen into a good role for us and I hope we don't mess with it.

We can call up Bassey now and maybe Dedmon is sticking around to fill out Poeltl's missing minutes for the rest of the season. Plus I think Dieng is hanging around here somewhere still :D

As far as Sochan goes, he seemed to be given the keys to the car already and playing starter minutes which he deserved. I doubt that changes.

Im still not convinced what Toronto's plan is with this. Grey mentioned they still have Poeltl's Bird rights so I guess maybe they are thinking long term with him?

Their GM has said that he would rather be a lottery team than a play-in team but this move screams of trying to make the play-in.

T-Dot been begging for Jakob back for sometime. I’m with you on the part where it seems like T-Dot may be desperate for a play in spot. They may have a chance with Brooklyn could be sailing backwards with the regime in play. So who knows with them right now.

Really good trade for you guys, if I recall correctly the first rounder is only top 6 protected which can be a really good pick in 2024 due to the trajectory and multiple question marks that remain of our team.
