Could a better GM have made a better deal than this? Probably but we’ll never know. This team might break every offensive metric of all time, and KD isn’t a slouch on defense either.

Even the 2025 pick is scary to me....That's when CP3 is done and KD will be 36? Like there's real questions as to what this team will look like then.

Suns are going to be big time players in free agency though. I think Sarver was holding the Suns back a lot. A lot of players and even coaches used the Suns for leverage. Not anymore I don't think.

I'm surprised we couldnt have managed to keep Cam. That would have made this sting a lot less. I get the Nets not wanting to budge on Mikal, but we could have countered a bit harder to keep Cam i would imagine

This will probably be a seperate thread title here in the next 2-3 years, along with "when is CP expected back".

Now I do feel better making a move like this with an owner who's willing to spend because they need to add even more this summer and the buy out market.

All these retread soulless chasers.

The buyout market is my big hope now. And at least we finally will get some espn coverage.

Love, Wall, whoever. I don't imagine Westbrook would want to reunite with KD but who knows..it would be kind of fun to see them win a championshp together...on the Suns.

just realized that KD probably isn't playing until after the all star break. We really can't afford to lose games with the standings being so tight and the Lakers getting much better. We have a lot of work to do and a lot of hard games coming up to win until we get KD back and now we don't have Mikal to carry us

Sounds like it was Ishbia. That's a hands on owner. Those picks unprotected, especially well into the future, scare me. and if Payne and Shamet and KD are out and we are bringing along Book slowly, who are we starting right now? CP3, TJ, Ayton, Craig...I guess. Hopefully Book is fully healthy the rest of the year.

Interesting we got TJ...he hasn't really put up much for #s.

Even though Brooklyn seems full of role players, their depth, shooting, defense, etc, is tough...if Cam Thomas is the real deal, with Bridges, Cam, Dinwiddie, DFS, O'Neale, they have SO many damn solid wings.

Oh no doubt. I just don't know what to think about giving up all those unprotected picks. Hell even the LA pick they gave up had *some* protection.

This definitely feels like a new owner splash move

Suns roster actually stands at 15 if you include Saben Lee and Ish Wainright. I would imagine Suns get someone in the buyout market. I don't think it's John Wall. I don't think it's Russell Westbrook. I'm not sure who it is at this point as I can't think of a James Jones type of player that would be available.

Something is weird here too. JJ says he wanted more shooters, then goes and trades 2 of the best 3pt shooters in the league. I dunno, this stinks like matt's got his Chefs hat on already.

You're kidding right man?? I mean clearly his weaknesses would be minimized here as we wouldn't need him to shoot. But he's still put up elite stats and possesses elite athleticism and tenacity and playmaking and ballhandling at a discount! Not to mention the level of motivation he'd have after being dumped and written off by so many! We could use his impact and fire. Not to mention his ballhandling and athleticism too! :D

Yup, I don’t think Jones was willing to move Mikal

The depth isn't really all that different than it was yesterday. KD and maybe warren in and Cam and Bridges out. But I do expect a couple around the edges moves either tomorrow or via buy out. Ring chaser spots.

If healthy this is a much better team this season. The risk is health and future.

I don’t understand the talks of trading Ayton after this move. He’s essential to the construct of this team now more so than before.

If only we could have kept Bridges, I would be jumping for so much joy.

Bridges seemed like he was always going to be the dealbreaker on either side. We gave up in the end and relented.

Saric + 2nd for Josh Richardson would make a lot of sense.

He was evaluated I believe the 24th of January saying he would get reevaluated in two weeks. Two weeks was yesterday.

He'll be back immediately.

That injury was complete bull and staying out is what fakers and hostage takers do.

You know what team has a TON of nice pieces and picks for a blockbuster trade or two now? Brooklyn.

It will be funny when the reroute Crowder somewhere for something solid immediately.
