Not sure about that. KD still performing at a very high level before his teammate fell into his knee. Booker now perfect for #2 role and doesn’t have to carry the team much. But CP historically breaks down in the playoffs. They have even less depth now. Not too worried about their defense though Ayton could be better for someone with his physical profile. Monty is a terrific coach. All teams healthy, I’d still take Nuggets or Warriors over them.

And buy outs will flock to them, which could change whom may be available for the Cs.

Most hated foe, The Lake Show with a steal of a deal, dumping the guy they didn't want, and acquiring
three quality players. The pick they gave up will either be neutered by signing Free Agents,
them being good or the usual NBA Draft shenanigans, to move the Lakers up into a Top 4 spot.

The Knicks with a nice, solid acquisition of a player, who could have helped the Cs.

And the Raptors heisting the Center, whom should have been the Celts top Bigman priority.

What's next, the Warriors getting OG?

I expect them to do something, now that the WC landscape has undergone a major upheaval.
Same goes for Denver, perhaps the Clips... and there's still Milwaukee and Cleveland in the East, who may
make major deals, reacting to the Suns move and the Nets implosion.

So, it's all on Brad to do something significant...

People really overstate what's going on in Phoenix. Yes, they added a great player in KD to go alongside Booker, but CP3 is not the same guy as even 2 years ago. Names are sexy as hell, but I don't think they beat GSW or maybe Denver. Bridges was a big piece for them.

Do they vault over Boston and Milwaukee? Not in my opinion. Those two teams are still the clear favorites. Get a good backup wing or backup center and lets roll.

Defense will be an issue this season. They have no depth or wings

I feel like it's ground hog day, and people forget that this is almost exactly how the Nets were set up. Nets also really didn't have much in terms of defense. They tried with DeAndre, but he was cooked when he got there. They'll have a shot this season, but more likely than not, they'll have to wait until the offseason to fix the defense.

Names are sexy as hell, but I don't think they beat GSW or maybe Denver. Bridges was a big piece for them. Plus that defense is horrific.

KD is a superb Playoff defender, better than Bridges in that regard and there could be some really
decent buy out candidates who could help mitigate against their weaknesses. It's possible because
of CP3 they could implode in the Playoffs, but KD really works well when he's surrounded by
other talent and he's got that in Booker, and Ayton who just did a number on the Cs. I think TJ Warren
was a nice get for them too.

Do they vault over Boston and Milwaukee? Not in my opinion. Those two teams are still the clear favorites. Get a good backup wing or backup center and lets roll.

Based on what dude? Give me a break. One thing still holds true. The suns are still a lousy defensive team. Celtics need to add another wing player.

KD is a good defender but who is going to outscore them? Paul, booker and KD on the same team is going to make for a tough team to beat

Naw man it’s still about defense. Lie someone mentioned Paul is 37 years old. The suns got more older with Durant.

Many said the same about my Nets when Kevin was here( you guys broke him and broke Kyrie together); Phoenix is a worse team than the 20-21 Nets. Booker/CP3 are chokers. Nonetheless, I just don't want that cancer Irving to succeed in Dallas. He really hurt our image league wide and made it worse in the presser. A healthy Boston team locked in on defense has enough to beat a fragile and old Phoenix team.

Suns have the highest ceiling in the west IMO, I need to see Nuggets play defense in the playoffs first.

Suns also could flame out, but I’ll roll with highest ceiling.

Catch onto the fact that the KD stuff last night was a running joke on the board. I said multiple times that I doubt he gets moved, and definitely didn’t think it would happen by the deadline. And that I thought the Suns or Pelicans were the favorites in the summer, along with the Celtics.

Foolish hurr hurr.

Truth be told KD is a pathetic loser, a sell out. I have zero respect for him now, everybody was right, he's just so weak for taking the easy way out.

Dude should be ashamed lol.

Yeah and many people said it was going to be a disaster because of Irving. Your boy Prov who continually posted non-stop that the only reason why Irving wasn't happy in Boston was because he didn't want to be there and it would be different in Brooklyn.

Regardless this is what you get when you get in bed with Irving.

I still think Phoenix is going to be incredibly difficult to beat.

A fully healthy squad we're still better than the Suns.

Our path is clearer to the Finals. I believe Brad will add some help today.

I don't give a **** about the Lakers, ain't worried.

Ummm, when are the Celtics ever really fully healthy,
you can never count on Rob?

It depends what you define as "significant". If you're saying add a rotation player then that in my opinion is significant and will probably happen. If you're saying to trade Brogdon and White for a superstar then thats not going to happen and you're going to be really mad at 3 pm.

I agree! The suns will be the team to beat in the west when healthy. Posters saying otherwise are in denial. They would have a tough road to the finals like us, but if they make it out the west, they will be tough to beat.

Return to Boston Celtics
