He's got a buyout in the works. Get ready to love Will Barton.

Isn't he washed up?

I think Buck was being sarcastic in my sunny lookout of Stevens.

I hope he does something substantial. But I won’t freak out if we stick with it. This team is a finals contender. KD to PHX doesn’t change that. In fact, it makes it easier for us to get there now.

This is a valid point.

Look at the Celtics in the Playoffs last season, they struggled against Milwaukee and Miami
and ultimately lost to the Warriors because of their offensive droughts. Fine defense, but couldn't
hack it offensively.

Suns will have no issues with that and may be able to grab some defenders/depth via Ring Chasers/Buyout
to help mitigate against their weaknesses.

The NBA landscape has been significantly altered and Mr. Stevens needs to react accordingly...

Brogdon has improved the offense dramatically

Add to that the improvements from JB and JT.

T'is true what you say,
but now the Suns have improved themselves dramatically,
in fact more dramatically than the Cs improvements,
so a few countermeasures are needed.

I don't know what Brad has up his sleeve, but it better be something better than trading for Bamba...

The fear in this thread is insane right now. This team has had the best record for virtually the entire year. Yes, KD is a huge piece to move. But lets not forget how good the Celtics are when they have everyone healthy.

Agreed. I am not scared at all. Actually, standing pat would be logical. Grab someone after today from the buyout market and we are set.

The trade deadline is FUN. But this year, we really don´t need to do anything. It´s a weird feeling

I was gonna sneak in a Noel suggestion, but man hasn't been very healthy in late years.

One thing I know, John Collins will still be on the Hawks.

Yes, but once again, when are they ever 100 percent healthy?
Certainly haven't it seen it this season, at least not for more than one or two games at a time.
And Rob, Rob, Rob, how can you even count on him?
Don't even know if he'll be healthy for the Playoffs or can make it through an entire series unscathed...

We can’t just stand pat. It’s just not only the bucks we need to worry in the east. When we played the Heat with Butler, they beat us in the clutch. With Butler outperforming Tatum. We had trouble guarding Bam in the perimeter, and they still forced a ton of turnovers on our part with their pesky defense. Not to mention the much improved Cavs with some really good young bigs. We don’t need to worry about the suns just yet. They would have a tough time making it out the west, just like us in the east. We need that extra big. If Rob misses time against the Heat, Cavs and the Bucks in the playoffs, we will struggle. Especially if Tatum have a string of off shooting nights.

The answer is and has been Olynyk. Solves the backup to the backup big man issue, and adds a bit more shooting which is nice. Assume the Barton buyout chatter is real, and their's your finals team. If it costs Pritchard and something else to match salaries, so be it.
Han shot first!

KD is a good defender but who is going to outscore them? Paul, booker and KD on the same team is going to make for a tough team to beat

I have Tatum as better than Durant
I have Brown as better than Booker

And our depth is far superior to theirs

Tatum: 30.9ppg
Brown: 27ppg
Brogdon: 14.5ppg

Durant: 29.7
Booker: 26.8
Paul: 13.6

and our offense is just as good.

I mean just putting up points per game doesn't tell the entire story. If that's the case Boston wouldn't continually lose to teams that are worse than them.

I think Irving and Isaiah Thomas put up similar numbers to each other when they were traded but no one's going to argue that Irving wasn't the better player.

I just don't agree that Tatum is better than Durant (who is the top five player) and there's no way that brown is better than Booker.

Also your conveniently forgetting that Chris Paul averages five more assists than brogden.

At least the good news in all of this is that Brooklyn is one less team that Boston has to worry about at the moment

Yeah and many people said it was going to be a disaster because of Irving. Your boy Prov who continually posted non-stop that the only reason why Irving wasn't happy in Boston was because he didn't want to be there and it would be different in Brooklyn.

Regardless this is what you get when you get in bed with Irving.

I still think Phoenix is going to be incredibly difficult to beat.

I think we learned a valuable lesson and it is humbling but swallowing pride is important. That punk Prok is no longer even on the boards and had ridiculous takes. I just pray for Kyrie to never win again. The smartest thing the Nets did was send them out West where everyone could Duke it out and rip each other apart. The fun part is Lakers have to deal with the Suns and Suns have to deal with Mavs and all vice versa.

What the hell happened to Prok? I heard someone from your board exposed him for being a fraud. Was he lying about having a biracial kid?

Not sure. He could be weeping naked in bed now that his boy is gone.

Unfortunately Olynyc plays for Utah and Danny is probably going to want about three picks for him.

The answer is not Olynyk. He'd help, but he's not the guy who can be the Rob replacement if anything happens. If there's a center they go after, it should... should be Bamba. If there is a forward to go after it, it should be Issac. The answer is in Orlando if they do anything. Unless Brooklyn is looking to move DFS. Then by all means...

KD going west actually helps the Celtics. The hope now is the cavs overtake Philly so we draw them in round 2. The road in the east got easier with the nets out of the picture
