POR- Thybulle
PHI- Jalen McDaniels
CHA- Svi + 2024 NYK 2nd and 2029 POR 2nd

that's awful return for Jalen when worse players are fetching 3 2nds lol

It isn't an awful return, its his value

Fine for Philly if they actually play McDaniels instead. I think somebody else could've got in on this for Thybulle, but it's a great deal for Portland. Don't really get it for CHA.

I like it for Philly.

And like it for Charlotte even if they have to give up the Knicks 2nd to get their 2nd back.

Portland making small moves around edges is not what I expected.

I had Philly always paying that Charlotte 2nd to avoid the tax.
If I think of this as a straight Thybulle Jalen swap with the 2nd for a tax it doesn’t feel that bad

Hate it for PHI, CHA got a nice haul.
Defense wins draft lotteries!
Fortune favours the bold, so it ducked Nico Harrison.

While conceptually I don't hate this for the Hornets getting their second back if they weren't going to re-sign McDaniels for what he wanted, but man, he was probably the best trade piece of the players they made available and this is a bit underwhelming.

I'm not a fan since I don't think this helps all that much and just further depletion of our already non-existent assets. Assuming another second round exit this year, Sixers really need to consider breaking it down.

okay, seems like the Charlotte bit is Jalen McDaniels, 2024 NY 2nd for Svi, 2023 CHA 2nd, 2027 2nd (better of NOP/POR)

Basically getting our 2nd back, and deferring a 2024 2nd to 2027 (which has a hint of upside because Portland might be terrible as Dame ages)...

If we had to trade Jalen because he was rebuffing extension talks and looking to leave in free agency, I don't hate it at all. Our 2nd is looking like #34 at worst.

Jalen has shown pretty steady improvement throughout his 3.5 years here. Upgrading from Thybulle is honestly an asset well-spent as long as you retain him as a UFA this summer. and you ducked the tax? I find it hard to complain here.

Might be bad reporting, but I'm seeing Philly getting 2 2nds.

So Philly did:
Out: Thybulle '23 Cha 2nd
In: McDaniels, '24 NYK 2nd, '29 Por 2nd

Trading for UFAs who you are forced to keep at all costs is how you end up with Tobias Harris on your books for $45 million.

McDaniels probably is better than Thybulle, though not sure either has shown enough to be part of a playoff rotation. So to trade RFA rights for mere bird rights while swapping a real good second now for some junk seconds next millennium just feels less than great.

I like the deal for Philly. Loved McDaniels coming out of college and think he has more upside then Thybulle.

Thybulle was not going to help the 76ers in the playoffs. Not developing a reliable corner 3, in 4 years, was borderline sinful on Thybulle's part. And the 76ers no longer need him to guard opposing ball handlers, because they have D Melton. He also put himself in the doghouse with the team when he didn't get fully vaccinated and caused himself to be unavailable in the Toronto playoff series. He sealed his own Fate.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

McDaniels defense and ability to hit the 3 enough to keep opponents defense honest should be enough to make him suitable for the playoffs. He can switch from 2-4 defensively.

Bull looked dang good last night. I realize his shooting was an anomaly, but he changes the entire defense in Portland(who should cut the new 3rd string PG and sign D.Howard.) He's a guy who's always been a corner 3 away from being an elite role player and last night he hit corner 3s.
