The Thybulle / McDaniels swap, if there are no other moving parts, would put the Sixers $1.275m under the luxury tax.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

Thybustle: -1.56 RPM
MCDaniels: -2.27 RPM
What are we doing trading a bust for an even worse player? this is the Sixers experience I guess.

6-9 7 foot wingspan and a great athlete it was a very good move

I'm not saying it was bad, but your idea to play him ahead of Pj is nuts.

Why? PJ is 6-4 and gets cooked every night but someone bigger younger and more athletic. Plus he can’t score. It’s a no-brainer to start him over little PJ.

Seems to me McDaniels was our option B after we failed to acquire Vanderbuilt.

Question is.. what is our plan for McDaniels? Same with Vanderbuilt or Harrell as a back-up small ball C?

Vanderbilt is better player imo

We are almost last in reb and he doesn't help with that

Do you trust Thybulle 3PT shot?

Generally speaking, a move where I feel the team gets more in value than they give up in return. I don't believe they did in this trade.

Generally speaking this doesn't mean anything because it excludes context.

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking. You want me to give you a made up trade, involving players I don't know are even available, of which I don't know what either team would be willing to agree to. It's a pointless exercise.

Again, team makes a trade, I evaluate it and give my opinion on whether it was a good trade or a bad trade.

MCDaniels has a slow and funky release, I'm sure as hell not trusting his either.

mmm We have 14 players right now, so still 1 roster spot and want to dodge the tax.

Maybe we have another move coming?

Yes this season he has been. Embiid has been the 3rd best player, and it matches the eye test :dontknow:

I would have waited to trade Thybulle in the offseason

McDaniels has no playoff experience and he's not this great athlete either

I think he takes Matisse’s minute (obviously) and probably some of Niang’s. He doesn’t have the strength to hold up as a C the way Vanderbilt does.

I'm ready for a rebuild after we get bounced in the second round again.

The Sixers forwards have sucked since the late Simmons years, too small, crappy rebounders, lack of athleticism because our non shooting PG in Simmons could defend big wings and rebound back then, so the forwards were mostly shooters with no other existing or remaining skills.
House and Tucker were supposed to be moved to fix that, though Tucker is a unique guy all unto himself.

We have gotten killed defensively and rebounding off the bench this year. Vanderbilt was my preferred answer to that, McDaniels is a nice second choice with Vanderbilt off the market. This team has always played best with a big lineup around Embiid, hopefully he gets some minutes with both the bench and starter groups.

No, i want you to say what types of moves are smart given what we have, you must have an idea what we can move and what type of player we could get for it.

I'm not even asking you to name players, it's not that difficult.

Watch what you wish for. This is a bubble. We put Embiid on the market and it immediately turns into a buyers markets.

Since we don't have our own picks until 2057, a rebuild is going to be difficult anyway.
