How many centers do we need? Don’t like this trade. Will hate it even more if we get the #1 pick.

Duren
Bagley
Stewart
Wiseman

Detroit does GS a massive favor by taking on Wiseman. We don't NEED him. We need something more in this deal...

Weaver loves his big man busts. Yeesh

Yeah, I’m really scratching my head on this one.

So why do we keep going for bigs like this? Duren, Stew, Bagley, and before them KO, Lyles, Plumdog and even Noel

Now add Wiseman. Frontcourt logjam continues...but for what reason

And inb4 newly minted Wiseman fans who claim they watched plenty of him

Until we know who the new coach is and what type of system he runs, there's no telling what does or doesn't make sense to our roster.

* Yes, I'm presuming that Casey is gone. Gores & Weaver can't be complete morons.

Well Weaver already gave Casey an un-neccessary extension, so.....

Odds that at least 3 of those 5 picks end up being better than Wiseman??

I hope there's a follow-up move planned because this is awful.

Part 1 of that equation has been completed, still need to wait a bit to see about part 2.

Actually pretty shocked that Atlanta was able to get Bey without having to give up even a late first round pick. The fact that it only took 2nd rounders to get Bey means we were grossly overrating his value around here.

Nothing like good ole nepotism to build a team.
If you're a former top 6 pick big man bust, get ready to pack your bags for Detroit. Okafor, Bagley, Noel, Wiseman. He's 0 for 3 so far so keep swinging I guess? More like swinging with a blindfold on.

hey thats me!

Wiseman is better than he's given credit for. His big issues are being a tick slow on rotations and his hands, both of which showed a lot of improvement this year. Unfortunately the guy was judged based on a rookie season with no preseason, jumping right into the W's complex system (which basically is, play off of Dray/Steph) and then again to start this season, his first basketball in 18 months.

Key thing to know about him - when he's healthy and getting minutes, easy to see a ton of upside. Both sides of the ball. Not that he'll reach the upside, but I liked this a ton more than I like the Bagley deal for you guys. But I do wonder why it was Detroit getting him, because Stewart/Duren seemed to be a fine combo and adding another young component doesnt really add up on paper.

But besides that (and not knowing how you value Bey), think you guys did one of the most saavy buy-lows recently

Can't wait til next year when we give Wiseman a big extension so he can battle Bagley for backup C minutes.

It's not new, we've always overestimated values of our own guys. But it's no different than any other fan base too. All fan bases think their own guys are gold at the right price

Welp, here we go!

Stewart
Bagley
Noel
Duren
Wiseman

I mean, why not? Maybe Weaver is trying to recreate what the Cavs have?

Garland/Ivey
Mitchell/Cade
Okoro/Bojan
Mobely/Duren
Allen/Wiseman

I mean, I guess?

Detroit has a disabled player cap exception via Cade's injury, to bring in Wiseman's contract. Atlanta has 2 TPE's large enough to bring in Bey's contract.

I'm not fully versed in cap exceptions rules (especially the rarer ones like the disabled player type) but I believe, these exceptions allow the trade (as reported so far) to be legal.
