Bey has not been very good this year and seemingly lost the "D" in his 3 + D potential. We needed to trade for someone else's headache to get a decent return. Should have sold high last offseason.

I don't know how I feel about Weaver going for another draft reclamation project. Wiseman is interesting and clearly we have been eyeing him for a while but he could easily flame out. Gotta wait to see if any other moves go down in the next 30+ minutes.

Pretty confused so far.

I know that Stewart isn't the long-term answer in terms of a starting big. He's not good enough defensively OR offensively against decent frontcourts. He's a high effort guy where too often high effort isn't enough.

Wiseman though seems to have bad hands as well? (I've never seen anyone ever get better in this regard?) And he's still largely a project but getting (or will be?) paid big dollars.

It just feels like we could have gotten something better for Bey + taking on a big contract (if we keep him). I also don't like what this bodes in terms of keeping Bojan past the trade deadline.

He fits our timeline I guess?

The amount of second rounders being offered and traded has to be at some record for a trade deadline...everyone gets 5 second rounders it seems

Honestly, I love that were taking a chance on Wiseman. This team was going nowhere with the current squad. I still think Wiseman has some untapped potential.

We were fleeced.

We sent out Knox too so this must mean we’re getting another wing from somewhere else…

So, unless there is some incoming big brain move no one saw, this team right now as constructed is an absolute mess.

I have no idea what the hell Troy is doing. All that needs to happen now is for the Pistons to land #2, so Weaver can keep the streak of drafting a guard everytime, and trading for a bigman everytime.

Eventually he'll get a pair he likes i guess.

Couldn't Detroit have sent Bey directly to Atlanta? I would rather have had 5 2nds.

Did we though? Wiseman even though he was maybe a negative asset still has some potential and it's not like Bey was ever going to be a star with us. Wiseman is not nothing at the least

I'd like to think it's more of a lateral move than an upgrade simply due to the fact our frontcourt has a big logjam

Now add Wiseman. Frontcourt logjam continues...but for what reason

And inb4 newly minted Wiseman fans who claim they watched plenty of him

Most rebuilding teams look to collect draft picks.

But that's too logical of a path for Troy Weaver. Troy prefers to collect scrap heap centers.

I'm just waiting for another waive and stretch.

Is that still a thing nowadays? It's been awhile since we've done that but given recent events it feels about right.

Perhaps the idea is to let Wiseman get PT to see what he's got. Maybe if he shows out in our free-for-all offensive scheme, he nets us something greater than what we were offered for Bey, sometime down the road...

Bey and Knox for Wiseman? Ok, see you guys in a year or 2 after Weaver is fired. I am 100% done.

I'm not saying that Wiseman has no chance to develop, but you have to seriously consider the possibility that he's destined to be a bust.

He was in the best possible situation for a bigman in GSW. With the perimeter talent on that team, the spacing is probably the best in the league, let alone being surrounded by playmakers.

His path towards relevancy in Detroit sure seems to be far more uphill than it was in California.

This deal is just confusing because we seem to have a really logjam in the front court. Wiseman needs to get minutes, Duren needs to get minutes, and you didn't pay Bagley to not see what he can do. Not to mention Beef Stew.

i hate it so much. wiseman is a low-effort, low-IQ player who is literally one of the worst players in the league this year (the warriors are astronomically better with looney on the floor than wiseman).

my criticism of weaver taking chances on low-IQ busts has been contested but of all things in the nba the one constant is that low-IQ players VERY rarely become high-IQ players, and high-IQ players are pretty much a prerequisite for any competitive team.

DSJ, JJ, diallo, bagley, etc. etc. etc. weaver has continued to show he can tear things down but has no idea how to actually build a winning team. sucks that casey gets all the blame when weaver provides him with nothing to progress the team.
