2 absolute monsters next to Jimmy and Bam in the front court. We’re definitely winning the championship now

I was just checking the stats and saw that Miami is averaging 41.4 rebounds per game, 27th in the league. Rebounding has been so bad for us this year. We are 20th in differential.

Zeller and Love give you a combined 25 boards per 36.

I feel like theyre going to help a lot if they get minutes.

How about we wait for the season to close before anybody is clamoring any "I told you so" on either side. This could continue to turn into a forgetable season regardless. Were getting players off the buyout market. Were severly dropping the goal post around here on what a succesful GM does for a team. If we were a top 3 team in the legue these would be great signings to bolster the depth chart, were barely staying above water as a 7th seed that has one of the worse offenses in the league, these guys are not moving the needle that far like some of yall are currently thinking.

Some of us are just happy that Sleepy Pat woke up and is trying something, even if the needle is only moving a centimeter.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

I dont know how these signings can be looked at negatively. We literally had no size. Laughable absence of it. This is better.

Ok.

Love the Love signing! :onfire:

meh the Zeller signing. :dontknow:

It's not like Zeller hasn't been out there the whole time. Maybe he'll surprise me. Hopefully we won't need him to.

Interesting signings. I know nothing of Zellar but we have bolstered size and shooting around Bam and that's helpful.

If Love is cooked it's a wasted signing but why not kick the tires? We also have Yurt77 coming back.

I think they feel ok about Dipo so they are rolling with the same guards.

Let's go!

Watching these highlights from Zeller, He doesn't seem like a slow footed big at all like I've seen some Heat fans say he is. I know he's had a bad injury history and last he was in the league he had surgery to repair a patella fracture, So may be a different story now.

Edit- realizing some of these highlights from quite a while ago. I saw Al Jefferson and Hedo Turkoglu in there

But he hasn't played for over a year now so hopefully that's allowed him enough time to heal and get back to a respectable level. He could possibly have a similar impact to Dedmond when he first came here after having a year off.

Would be a nice surprise to be able to have a guy who could possibly give us 10ppg/7rpg off the bench in 20mins.

Hopefully he hasn't lost all the bounce he had prior to his surgery. He should allow us to continue running similar PnR actions we do with Bam while he's sitting, obviously not as good but we weren't getting anything close with Dedmond even at his best. I can see him and Oladipo having some good chemistry in the PnR off the bench since they were college teammates and seem like they were tight.

This does look promising. I think these are the type of players we need at that position over the Arizas, Iggys and Calebs. I would have still preferred a bulkier player ala Crowder and Tucker but Love and Zellar are reputable rebounders.

Now, I agree with the type of the players, unfortunately both are post-injury projects.

We have a lot of those but if we put it together and they are ok, we can be deadly.

Yeah they should definitely help. Love alone should increase our defensive rebounds significantly in the starting unit. Love currently playing 10mpg less than Martin and giving you 1.6 more total rebounds (+2drpg more) than Martin that alone would put us in the top 10 range in defensive rebounding teams at 33.3drpg (HOU 10th at 33.4drpg). If he plays more than 20mpg which I think is likely that should increase even higher.

When you add to that Zeller who should be a slightly better rebounder than Robinson and moving Martin to the bench unit likely taking minutes from Strus (30.3mpg) who's our worst rebounder playing heavy mins outside of Oladipo (28.4mpg) and Gabe (26.3mpg). In total it should increase our averages to get us in the top 8-12 range for defensive rebounds where we are lacking the most currently tied at 27th (31.2rpg).

Considering we are 28th in both pace and possessions per game to be ranked that high would be very good for us.

I’d temper your expectations, he’s been a true 10-7 guy without rounding numbers once in his career and it’s very likely he only plays the 10-12 minutes Bam is off the court unless he’s randomly developed a knockdown 3 ball

I think they’re worth about 1.5 wins combined if Spo deploys them smartly/ creatively. Huge for the last 23 down the stretch. Anything to decrease wear and tear on Bam I’m with it.

Love has rarely played with so much screening and cutting. I think he’s gonna show off better passing chops than most would expect. Not necessarily assists but just solid, possession-advancing kicks. So long as they demolish the Hawks in their upcoming B2B set (like they usually do) I’ll be ecstatic lol.

I know it’s been doom and gloom here so I haven’t been logging on much. I simply don’t consume negativity when Jimmy Butler is involved in any form, especially when he’s sporting a damn .242 Win Share per 48. I also knew losing PJ’s hustle and screening would sting more than a little bit and I wouldn’t have even considered starting Tyler so the struggles thus far haven’t shocked me at all.

If Jimmy is healthy down the stretch the 5th seed is the Heat’s to lose, period. Of course they’ll be underdogs versus the Cavs but again they ain’t got Playoff Jimmy.

They both do have to pass the notorious Heat Health battery test though, let’s hope there aren’t any snags there.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

And believe me - these moves are desperate.

I don't believe you. I see Love as a guy more than one team was interested and is still a quality rotation player. Zeller is clearly an insurance. A cheaper version of Dedmon.

Love signing is a welcome sight....can't wait to see what Love/Bam pairing on offense looks like.
