7-5 or 6-6 record is fairly realistic

Would it be too much if he came back at least against New York?

Yes. More likely he's done for the season rather than coming back in 2 weeks

Hmmmm any tests yet confirm anything? That's disappointing...

Imagine having this roster from the start of the season... Sigh...

They'd be in good position now and LeBron would have time to rest. Pelinkduh strikes again.

They also shot way more FTs and Memphis is 3-14 from 3. They’re going to have to do much better to get the win, which would be huge. Having DLo run offense would really help.

Not related to today but...How is AD so bad at getting wins historically? His advanced stats are always elite.

Took two games for Bamba to be out of the rotation. Trading Bev was a disaster.

Lack of good playmakers/decision-makers has killed the Lakers in this one.

I think we all believe this team post-trade can hold the fort down for a few weeks without LeBron. They won't win this game but still an impressive effort. Schedule eases up after this.

They could maybe have won this game with a healthy DLo.

Schroder just isn't a starting PG. He throws so many lazy/reckless/inaccurate passes it boggles the mind.

Yep...
Meanwhile starting for the Bulls with positive plus minus in every game so far (even if they lose).

Have to admit that was the one move that had me puzzled.

"WTF" was my literal reaction when someone texted me about it.

Ugh, after such a good deadline. The FO is lucky they are in LA and have a steady flow of asset acquisitions every summer. Most teams who make this many roster mistakes have nowhere to go but down. They keep choosing empty boxscores types over intangibles.

It was was maddening.

They had Bev all year and were using him on the wing because they had a surplus of PGs.

Then they trade Nunn and Westbrook for 6'5 combo in DLo and I'm thinking this is perfect. Bev and DLo had amazing lineups on the Wolves, they complement perfectly. Bev can finally go to defend PGs again.

Then they trade Bev for Bamba (a guy that isn't better than Gabriel).

Yup

While I don't think Bev is a great playmaker, if he was the #3 playmaker in a lineup, that is fine

I did think we did have to upgrade Bryant for the playoffs though, but Bamba doesn't seem like the guy (but still giving him a chance)

Seems like we could have basically got Noel for free (bought out now)

A guy like Plumlee would have been much better. Lonnie and filler and couple 2nds...

MIN (Russell probably back)
GSW without Curry and Wiggins

Should win all 3

It's a shame that Westbrook is starting for the Clippers. Has the odds-on favorite for 6th man of the year ever been traded midseason and placed in a starting role?

RE: LBJ injury...63,000+ minutes in and at the MPG and at the intensity he has been forced to play at this season for a poor roster, it's a minor miracle he's only going to be out a few weeks. When everybody was gearing up for him passing up KAJ, I was nervous every game because of injury concern. Anthony Davis was instrumental to winning that 2020 title obviously, but man, it would have been nice to pair LBJ up with a younger player who also had a young man's durability and energy.

Has LBJ ever played with another great player who had strong durability? Kyrie, Davis, and Wade are pretty bad. Aside from the 2012 playoff injury, I guess Chris Bosh was pretty reliable. That's it.

I hope LBJ recovers quickly, and more importantly, recovers fully. I don't care about the Lakers, but we're only going to have LBJ for so much longer, so it'd be cool to watch the playoff version as many times as we can.

With hindsight it's always easier.
But how come the Lakers organization were so stupid to sign Westbrook in the first place? We could all tell it wouldn't work, yet they still did.
Surely with millions of dollars they'd have more competent people on top?
