My preference is Scoot over Wemby, and then Keyonte. But honestly it's just my gut reaction to what I've seen and read and what I think our team needs are.

Wow.. I think we both have the same thinking. I too have Scoot over Vic and so far... Keyonte is rising to my 3rd choice. Hopefully that injury last game was just a minor one and he can play the next one.

Same.. perfect fit. If he really is a legit 6'4 then i'm all in. There is just something that makes me drool over players that can shoot logo 3s without fear.

Your opinion is pretty heavily weighted in my draft preferences since I know you watch the games

Yeah but bear in mind Im a duke fan so I might have biases against UNC and UK players lol ( except for Kessler, when I saw his rookie year as a backup I was already impressed )

What about Whitehead and Proctor?
Do they play good?

Dariq has been a disappointment to me. Probably his injury to start the season but he has been majorly a no-show with the games that he has played. His 3pt shot is there though..

Proctor is the only rookie in this Duke squad thT I like but even i think he needs one more season at Duke as the lead PG to see where he really ranks. Also, with a less than loaded class next draft he might get lotto considerations.

If the season ended right now, without lotto luck (good or bad), Orlando would have the 5 and 8 picks in the draft.

I would say it is 50/50 that the Magic climbs up to 6 and also 50/50 that the Bulls-pick slides down to 7. (Or that the Magic is 7 and Bulls 6).

So: I am basically expecting the Magic in some order to have the 6 and 7 picks in this draft.

....

Assuming Dick, Miller and Black are all of the boards, then this could be Kris Murray and Nick Smith. Such a draft dooms Okeke's future with this team. And cast real doubt on Suggs' future.

Not sure Keyonte George is a lottery level prospect.

As season progresses this draft to me looks like 3 persons worth sucking for deep.

Nick Smith fell off hard imo, he looks like good-at-nothing guard + injury.
Cam Whitmore is trigger happy chucker. Like, Ross level- trigger happy chucker.
I like Anthony Black as player, but i don't see how he will help any team win games in near future ( also ugly turnover rate and i don't trust his jumper ). Seems like more of project than prospect.
Keyonte George- nothing about his game jumps off as potentially elite. Not elite athlete, not tallest person, not elite shooter, not greatest passer.

Thompson twins... i don't know how to scout players that play pickup games against 15 years old kids.

I see that Jalen Hood-Schifino is now in some mocks in lottery... Wow . GIven that draft sucks, might as well take fly on his teammate Traye Jackson Davis who leads that taem in points, blocks, rebounds and is second in assists. Sure he is 23 but whatever.

Players I wouldn’t mind Orlando drafting outside of the top 2.

In no particular order:

Point guards:
Nick Smith
Cason Wallace

Shooting guards:
Jett Howard
Brice Sensabaugh
Keyonte George
Gradey Dick

Versatile wings:
Brandon Miller
Maxwell Lewis

That’s really the entire list.

If you aren’t capable of shooting or outplaying Fultz for a job (shouldn’t be difficult) , then there is no reason to spend a lotto pick on anyone that doesn’t pair well with Franz and Paolo. And no, this teams back court isn’t good enough to spend lotto picks on bench unit guys behind Franz and Paolo.

Take a look at Jordan Hawkins and Colby Jones and let me know your opinion.

LOL. Exactly my thoughts.

A turnover player that has terrible shooting numbers. p.s. his defence metrics are also poor.
Yeh: sign me up.

You gotta watch his games to pair those numbers on paper. Defense metrics are poor? The kid is fighting through screens and staying in front of his man the games that I watched. And he looks overwhelmed cuz he usually ends up defending someone bigger than him.

I share your exclusions…I’m really interested in Nick Smith and Howard or Dick as my primary targets but we’ll learn a lot more in March

Pacers with some shameless tanking, somehow lost to the Spurs with no Keldon Johnson, Coach Pop, & having starters play limited minutes. Halliburton aint play for the Pacers

Broke the Spurs 16 game losing streak

The Bulls beat the Pistons.
Even more critically, the Wizards beat the Raptors.

Orlando sits 4 1/2 games out of the play-ins, but is closer to being the 6th worst team, as you note.

p.s. OKC is on a 5-game losing streak and Portland on a 2 gamer. Orlando's highest place possible looks to the 9th worst team. but missing the play-ins.

As the Magic is not tanking, I do expect a rapid climb i the standings over the teams like Indiana and Portland that are basically giving up on their seasons.

..

Return to Orlando Magic
