I think this guy called it right
Means LeBron is likely back at 3 weeks at earliest or 4 weeks at latest.

Last 10 games are important (PHX x2, UTA x2, CHI x2, MIN, OKC, LAC, HOU).
Lakers need LeBron then and he should be back for that.

Ughh this sucks....
What are thoughts on trading AD this summer?
We may need a less injury prone 1a/1b with Lebron
JUst not sure who/what package makes sense, if any
The team is a potential contender when healthy, but if we move AD, we may not have as high as a ceiling

Always depends on what you can get for him.
I don't think you can get value for him enough to trade him.

Do we even want the Lakers to make the playoffs this year? Bron is out at least 3 weeks. He’ll probably need double that to be fully healthy. He came back too early in 2021 because it was the playoffs. Fortunately, he didn’t suffer a catastrophic injury then. Now he’s two years older. AD isn’t healthy either. I’d rather Bron just take the rest of the season off and get healthy. He already got the scoring record. That’s all I hoped for out of this season.

If they can get to the 6th/7th seed then sure. Facing the Kings/Grizzlies in the first round is too juicy of an opportunity to turn down. I think they could beat either team with a limited Bron.

Yeah, this season is done as far as being a credible player in the West is concerned. Even if they somehow do make the play-in/playoffs with LeBron missing most of those games, that will only mean LeBron's returning way sooner than he should and will be a far cry from his usual self ala 2021. LA would just get their ass handed to them in the 1st round all over again.

I'd rather they make the playoffs than not if that were the case because the Phoenix series wasn't simply LeBron being limited and aggravating his injury, but AD getting hurt during the series too. They were up 2-1 in commanding fashion for a reason before it all crumbled.

Oh, I do want them to make the playoffs. But resigned to the fact that they won't amount to anything even if they do make it.

I think they can make some noise if they get in, if Lebron isn’t healthy by then Ofc I would feel sane way as you though. It’s sad but i really think this post deadline team is a legitimate contender if healthy , my only concern is POA guard defense ( seriously still annoyed at trading bev for Bamba when wenyen seems to be favoured/better even if I like Bamba shooting ability ). I didn’t think too much till the Dallas win because it’s still a tiny sample size but they have had like one double digit win vs a tanking team all year before stringing together multiple . The top of the west seems really vulnerable too which is a big reason for me : and I think the lakers have significant playoff matchup advantage. However this injury timeline has severely Dampened my hopes . It’s so frustrating because I was sure 2 weeks off for all star break woukd mean we’d atleast get 20 games of the new roster and maybe it isn’t good but seeing that it actually has dramatically changed only to be screwed by injuries is painful.
However I must admit thought the season was over when AD got injured ( and Russ wasn’t moved ) after that monster run to start the year : yet Lebron dragged the team to stay relavant against a harder schedule and less home games and a worse roster . AD and Dlo( seriously how does he go from day to do to bring listed out for Friday in advance ?) should be able to play .500 ball. But honestly I trust the god damn minimum guys more then those two : Schroeder, reaves , brown etc If AD was down 3 weeks I’d feel more optimistic hilariously enough that Lebron could carry them to a play in spot. That alone should mean it’s not an insurmountable task. Plus watching this team without Russ is infinitely more fun lol. Also the western teams above us are mostly playing bad and have harder schedules. If Dlo can get back asap maybe they can stay around .500 on this easy stretch and some miracle happens. Must admit though this injury killed majority of my remaining optimism and made me feel pretty **** but oh well. Watching reaves and Schroeder and the other min salary guys win last night ws great . They seriously won missing nearly 3 MAX players.

Also don’t think there’s any way to trade AD and stat remotely relavant . Only option was maybe KD but he is older and injury prone too so not exactly helpful

Think Portland would do AD for Lillard type? I called for this two seasons ago, was laughed at.
Then maybe DLo S&T for a big?

That's the point though. LeBron is not going to be anywhere near 100% ala 2021 when he returns. That's what I'm basing their grim playoff prospects on (if they make it).
I do agree that this is a legit contender when healthy. But hard to imagine that ever being the case given LeBron's age and AD being....AD.

Starting to think AD is just a bad fit for this point of his career. On court chemistry is great but AD has such low floor raising impact and availability he can't lead anyone alone to comfortable seeding. The roster would have to be super deep, which is super expensive when you're paying 2 stars. Having said that I'm also not sure this ownership is right fit for this stage of his career.

This ownership isn't the right fit for any player with a winning mentality.

LeBron seems to have gotten a huge boost in LA-RAPM seemingly out of nowhere.

He was around 15th last time I checked, now he's shot up to 4th behind only Jokic, JJJ, and Caruso this season. Year 20 btw.
