Yep. All that matters right now. Portland scares me.

Same. News of possibly shutting down Lillard in the next couple games is troubling. Them and the Pacers are who we have to worry about most. Us losing against the Blazers last week was big for our draft odds.

Both the Blazers & Pacers demonstrated last season after the all star break that they know how to tank, hard. Both had the worst records in the NBA post all star break

Meh. The game is over. He is probably on tilt anyway.

People just find random ass reasons to hate Mosley imo, haven't seen one good critique outside of resting players too long at times but a lot of coaches have weird rotations. For the personnel he's had and the injuries he's dealt with this year, I'm beyond fine with the way he's coached this year.

When I'll really start to judge is when I feel like we have a winning roster and how he handles that.. which may be as soon as next year

I'll redact my complaint as it appears Mosley was probably making sure Paolo didn't foul out on the rebound.

Forget about the result for a second and just look at the process. The Magic had good process tonight. More 3PT volume is always the way to go.

If the Magic simply shot their average tonight from 3PT - 34.6% - they would have won this game. That's not a tall task. They didn't have to shoot great, just to their below average standards.

They need to be at a higher volume like they were tonight all the time.

Also the next however many games should just be about development. Play everybody including Bol, Houstan, Goga etc as much as possible and see what we potentially have. Risking it all for a small shot at play ins seems wasteful when so many teams are going all in for Wemby and Scoot

They had to. The Lakers had 10 made 3s in the first half and Orlando had to neutralize that by chucking up 3s. Because they started hitting them, it changed the game.

Nothing is guaranteed but drafting Wemby, Scoot, or Miller could set this franchise up for a 5-10 year run fairly quickly.

I think it'd be very useful to get a good look at the 3 you listed when it comes to our depth chart next season.

Test Bol Bol's passing ability and lateral defense, test Houston's shot creation, and Goga's Rim Protection.

43 shots for Paolo and Franz. Can't complain about that.

We had trouble getting good looks late and several good looks from 3 didn't go down. Guard defense was atrocious. When will this team be good at making 3s????

largely it was due to Franz's 0-8 from 3s. Tough loss. Hope we learn from it. I really wanted to ruin Lakers' season. :D

Franz can usually hit them, WCJ is ok at it, so is Cole. We just have to hope Paolo and Suggs continue working on it and that we can draft and sign shooters this summer.

  hahah.... great game by him!

but i do hope our scouting team goes... "I can see him on our team!"

I would be happier throwing $15 mill at him than FVV at his desired $30 mill. not even going to lie.

No! These players that have great games against team for a few games need to be watched over a period of time before throwing money like that. Teams do not have enough info on their games or know how to defend them. Once they have played enough games, teams can build
a defensive scheme around them and contain them. Any of these players that are playing hot down the stretch while not playing like that all season, whether it’s due to them coming off the bench behind star players or what not, need to be watched closely before we throw millions at them.

This isn't first time watching him play and being impressed. I've watched a handful of games with my lakers fan friend and i always come away going.... "Dang.... this kid can play"

i remember watching this game last week....

yeah.... his stats seem "oh not bad"... but he just passes the eye test.

just watched his post game interview.... and i like him even more. haha

I basically give young guys/coaches a pass until my standards are super high for the team (unless its some like, old coach that has had so many chances). I know this year is an in-between year but I think the team has competed well when injury-free so that's all I ask.

I'll be hard on the front office this offseason though.. they've spoken A LOT about 2023. So let's see if they put the money where their mouth is

I'm not super concerned with the Magic winning too much down the stretch here.

They have 10 games left. Only 3 of them are against non-playoff teams and two of those three are against the Wizards who have absolutely smoked the Magic twice already this year.

All these other teams - Memphis and Brooklyn and Cleveland and Miami are all playing for seeding at the very least.

I think a 3-7 close is pretty likely which would put the Magic at just 32 wins.

Portland would only have to go 2-9 in their last 11 to stay ahead of the Magic. I just can't imagine Portland, who has already lost 6 in a row, finishing their season losing 16 of 17.

Life is often about luck. You have to put yourself in the best position possible but some stuff is just out of your hands.
