Nice and-1 by Cole there. Hopefully he can keep good-Cole-ing for the rest of the game.

Mo Wagner having the team high on FG attempts, 8, in only 6 minutes is insane

Paolo as the hub of the offense with Cole starting at PG might work IF Paolo becomes the playmaker. In other words, Cole brings the ball up, then passes it to Paolo at the elbow 80-90% of the time to start sets. Maybe if I squint hard enough...

He has impressed me this year. He regresses sometimes back into bad-Cole from time to time but I think it has been a very good year for Cole overall.
I’ve been cold on Cole in the past but since he went to the bench and responded well he has won me back over. Maybe he’s destined to be a bench spark plug, but he’s so young I’m not counting him out or growing into being an adequate starter in the future.
Just look at his numbers compared to FVV when comparing their 3rd professional seasons. Fred was 24 in his 3rd season Vs Cole only being 22 and their numbers are still very close. Given how desperate a lot of people on the board are to chase FVV for big bucks, I genuinely wonder if it’s better just to ride with Cole (and whatever rookies we find) to see if Cole can grow to match Fred’s peak production.

Paolo rarely gets the foul that was just called on him

It doesn’t have to be an either or.
The Magic have cap space to sign new guys and retain Cole/any other player if they want.
The only thing that’s certain is that their cap space will go away eventually if they don’t use it. So they need to use it and then choose which guys are worth retaining that are already here.

Or we can sign FVV and start Cole once and if he reaches FVV peak? That sounds much better to me, but honestly I am not expecting Cole to be as good defensively. Cole effort is not an issue on that end, he just lacks a bit of length and a lot of defensive understanding and awareness to build on that hustle and energy.

Bingo. Do both if you want. The only thing it’s gonna cost is money and it ain’t my money.

Hey, that would be helluva better return on investment than Isaac's extension for one.

Not sure why we're running our offense through Paolo but I LOVE it

Amazing how much easier it is to win when you take and make more threes. Almost like there's a correlation.

I’d like to take and keep this Gary Harris we’re seeing tonight.
