Keep sharing the ball. We got the most weapons and most depth since the last Kyrie season.

Kennard is above 45+ 3P% too, but nice % from this 2.

Yep, he recently joined Mal and Al on the list by making 10 threes in one game. I think he’s desperate to be a part of the Celtics.

It’s a really short sample, only 143 possessions, but the lineup of White, Jaylen, Tatum, Al, and Rob has a net rating of +45.1 lmao.

The net rating with Tatum off the court is +1.7, which is good enough for me. With Jaylen off the court, it’s +10.0. With White off the court, it’s +0.8.

Jaylen on the court without Tatum, it’s +2.7 in 1395 possessions. Add White to that, and it’s +7.7 over 834 possessions.

Jaylen and Tatum on the court without White? -4.4 net rating over 1,375 possessions. Jaylen on the court without White is -4.3 as well, in almost 2000 possessions.

Tatum without Jaylen is +12.8 in 2039 possessions, add White to that and it’s somehow only +10.3 lol. Tatum and Rob is +13.0.

Tatum and Smart together is +6.7, Jaylen and Smart is +2.2.

Looking at all the numbers, and it’s clear that one of Tatum and White need to always be on the court.

With Tatum off the Court, Brown needs some kinda help to maintain the Celtics.
That probably puts Jaylen at the 3, and 2 Ballhandlers in the game?

D white has been so good as a starter and yet rob Williams is hanging in the shadows..

I honestly do not know if those 2 are the choices and only one can start.

They both provide different impacts to the game..

But come playoffs, big decisions will have to be made..
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

So Grant and Sam haven't actually had many DNP-CDs?

So where do we start the conversation about trading for Luka when Mavs are forced to blow up?

I may get criticized for saying this, but......."No Thanks!" I'm not fan of the hero ball Harden/Luka types. Amazing talent. But I like the current roster....Continuity, toughness, multiple stars...

I know guys get traded with more and more years left on their contracts but I can't see Doncic being moved this summer. They can probably get away with saying that the pairing with Kyrie didn't have enough time to mesh and sell him on one more version of this team (new coach/new supporting cast/new co-star whatever the case may be) before he checks out.

Now next deadline or the summer of 2024 if they are still in the bottom of the West and the chatter about how his stats don't translate to winning intensifies I think it's a different story. Celtics fans should be in no rush to see him on another team though, the second he gets to a competent organisation that's one more team the Celtics will need to go through to get a championship.

As for Harden's hero ball not winning in the playoffs it's worth noting that there's a five year stretch where he lost to Curry's Warriors four times. It's not so much that he couldn't win in the playoffs it's that he couldn't get past one of the all time great dynasty (who has lost like one playoff series when their core was healthy in the last decade so that's hardly a Harden specific problem). It's kind of like when people made fun of Horford for getting swept by LeBron every year in the playoffs, you do have to beat everybody else to keep getting that opportunity and that's not easy to do.

Whether with Real Madrid or Slovenia, we have seen Doncic adjust to other roles where he doesn't pound the ball nearly as much. I wouldn't necessarily conflate what he's doing in Dallas with what he would look like in a different context either. So I'm not sure that (if he gets moved) the team that would get him would get the same insanely high usage/time of possession guy that we have seen in Dallas lately.

Grant has played in every game except 3. Sam in all except 2. Can't remember if any of the missed games are for legit injuries. Tatum is 4th in most games played (69/75).

If we lose Grant in FA, wish there was a way for us to add Kyle Anderson.

Bruce Brown and Josh Hart good fits too.

If Jaylen does want to leave, but wants the bag before going...we have a serious shot at trading for Luka Doncic.
And that's if we aren't already planning a package for Luka based around Jaylen.

I'd probably rather keep Jaylen if he really wants to be here, but if he doesn't wanna be here, there wouldn't be many better trade options for the Mavs.
One day Marcus Smart will be defensive player of the year, mark my words.

^^ Jaylen (agrees to re-sign) joining Kyrie (re-signed) and Mark Cuban in Texas would be an interesting turn of events.
