Scoot has a 6'9 wingspan and huge hands. Size isn't a problem and he can move with the ball with the best of them.

I can't imagine we draft another PG. BTW Markelle is killing it tonight again. And he has had 4 25+ points per games this March.

He showed it again tonight being very efficient. Why do we even need Scoot? If this FVV rumor is true, another PG? I don't see it. I pick Brandon Miller easily

In my mind, SG is our only starting position still in question going into the draft.
But I'm not in love with any of the top SG's in this draft.

So, "trade down" might be my choice.

You will have very tought time convincing me that other guys don't have shooting question marks ( along with other question marks ) at given draft range.

Anthony Black ,30% for 3 on 28/93 sample.

Jalen Hood-Schifino 37/11 for 3 ( 76% FTs).

Cam Withmore 37/108 for 3 ,70% FTs

Jarace Walker only shoots 66% FTs on 35/101 for 3. For comparison sake, strong SF-PF defender with similar percentages are:
1) Justise Winslow ( 46/110 for 3, 64% FTs)
2) Stanley Johnson ( 43/116 for 3 , 74% FTs)

His shooting motion is awkward, he is defended as no-shooter already even at college, he needs ages to get into shooting motion and lunch shot, some of his shots are massive bricks (again, despite fact most of the time he isn't really guarded like person who is treat to make shots).

People who compare him with Isaac forget fact that Isaac is towering at 7 foot and this guy is slightly above league's average in size. He is more of Scottie Barnes without passing chops than Isaac.

For comparison sake, Amen shot 21/83 for 3 ( 25% ) and Ausar 34/120 (28%). We can talk about level of competition, but those shooting numbers aren't that much different.
When we talk about 80-120 shot attemps sample size, difference between 5-6 threes made over whole season scews percentages by 4-5% so you go from 28% to 34%. But sample size is simply too low to just focus on it.

Looking at catch& shoot numbers, 2FA from mid range, FTA would be more insightful, but we, as fans, normally don't have access to all that.
The Thompson twins are a year older than those players. They are Paolo's age. Whitmore is 1.5 years younger.

The Twins had 24 hour a day training facilities. The other players went to school part-time.

I agree with concerns about their jumpshot and ability to shoot, but i'm also not sold on notions others are polished shooters based on their numbers as well.

Time will tell i guess?

That's why it is important to do workouts with them before draft

Moving on to our 3rd spot on the big board. Scoot clocked in with a majority of votes to get the #2 spot, but Brandon Miller pulled in a significant 37%. I can see the argument for either.

Its Miller or somebody is smoking and I want in....

It's not just that Miller is BPA its that he legitimately might be good enough to play SG/SF which would balance us out with our two Fs.

Hey RealGMs, with the NBA Draft right around the corner, I thought it would be a good idea to put together a series of polls to determine the Orlando Magic NBA draft big board.

Here's how it works: we'll create a poll of the top ten players and have our esteemed board members select their top preference. The winner will be noted with the percent of votes they earned and the poll will then be reset with another player added and the previous winner removed. This process will be continued until a top 10 or 15 is decided on.

This is a great way for us to get a sense of who the Magic should be targeting in the upcoming draft. With so many talented players available, it can be tough to know who to prioritize. But with the help of our knowledgeable board members, I'm confident we can put together a list of top prospects that the Magic can use to build a championship-caliber team.

So, Magic RealGMs, get ready to have your voices heard! I'll be updating these polls daily, so be sure to check back often and cast your vote for the player you think would be the best fit for the Magic.

None of us armchair gms is deciding which player will be a future magician.

I'm kinda leaning towards packaging the picks, plus a player to get someone. Not sure we need another player(s) to develop. Think Cleveland getting Mitchell except probably not anyone that good since I'm not sure anyone is having a firesale this offseason. But this is kinda off topic, for the topic, Miller is BPA for 3 and brings decent shooting. Not sure how he fits with the team though.

I wouldn't draft them in the top 15. They've had plenty of time and coaching to learn how to shoot.

My biggest curiosity with them is how they guard D Mitchell. The extra length they have may allow them to disrupt his shots more.
