I could be mistaken, but we seem to have lost a good majority of these type of endgames. I hope the team starts growing balls of clutch in the postseason.

Oh, and Blake was a scheduled DNP-CD, but Mazzulla decided late to see if he could make an impact in the 4th: Celts go on a 19-9 run. Grant subs out Blake after 8 mins: Sixers immediately go on a 12-1 run.

Blake won't always have that impact every game, but if used in the postseason there will be a couple or so where he could make his mark and give back to Boston more than dollars on the pennies for the vet minimum he was signed up for.

I actually am a little more worried about Miami in the first than Philly in the 2nd. Don’t trust Joe against Spoelstra and a team that plays down is their wet dream. Philly is a bad matchup and either Doc will sink the ship or Embiid will run out of gas. Puncher’s chance but same could be said for most teams this season

The heat actually terrifies me. A really bad matchup for us. We can’t stop Bam, who turns into prime shaq against us. they have a closer in butler, who turns into prime MJ against us. Herro is good. Have bunch of good shooters. Strus turns into prime ray allen against us. and are very active with their hands, which is bad against the Jays erratic ball handling. If we get to 7 games against them, who knows what will happen against a much rested sixers.

You forgot the most important factor. Spo.

We were without Brown and Rob and still had a shot of winning the game. Embiid played out of his mind and Tatum struggled with his shot and we still had a shot to win the game. On the road, btw.

Now if you want to talk about how Brad and Wyc and the Celtics organization isn't about winning titles anymore, then I'm with it.
The swing and a miss by Brad and Wyc at the deadline said it all. Muscala was great tonight, wasn't he?

We still have a chance at a title this year, if Rob has to be healthy. That's a big if. Brad and Wyc gambled on that by not getting a legit back up center all season.

Great effort by the team tonight without Brown and Rob. Embiid was out of his mind, going 20-25 from the field. He couldn't miss. We were still in it all game, thanks the White, Brogdon and Smart.

That's not on Kornet. He was never an enforcer type. That's on Brad and Wyc for not
getting a legit back up center all season.

Celtics are 23-13 in clutch games this year which is the 2nd highest winning percentage in the entire league. Tell me more about how they suck at closing out games.

Yeah this can't instill confidence into them. Embiid had to score 50, Tucker had to hit back-to-back threes, Boston missed free throws and they were down to starters and Philly only won by two

Lol at us down two starters. You say it as if Brown is just a starter. He is an all star, having the best season
of his career, putting up 27 and 6. Also Rob isn't a starter these days.

Agree with everything else you said. I know what you mean though. Tucker came to life at the end when he hadn't done anything all game. Embiid had one of the best shooting nights in NBA history for a player taking at least 25 shots in a game. And we still had a chance to win the game.

Great game for White. Good games for Smart and Brogdon.
Tatum played poorly. Last possession should've been in White's hands. If you're hot you do deserve to get a shot at it.
Good assessment:

PLO wrote:Tatum played OK - took advantage of a few mismatches - decent on the defensive end. He is what we thought he was going into the season - a technically very proficient player operating close to his career ceiling as a rookie.

We were all glad too lol.

Posters who only show up after losses and never after wins don’t deserve board respect.

Kornet is a regular season player. If we're being generous. I would not want to see him play a single minute in the postseason. Por favor.

Tatum, Smart and Brogdon each missed 2 FTs. We make those and we win

We lost the game and ended up feeling more confident about our chances of beating the Sixers in the 2nd round.

It took a 52-point effort from Embiid and three PJ Tucker threes to beat us, and we still had a chance in the closing seconds. That said, facing Philly in the 2nd round is still a scary thought. Embiid just cemented his MVP win with this game.

I welcome Philly with open arms in the 2nd round.

Easy series.

All of this. We dust them in the second round.

I’ll go on record with this too. Cleveland will beat the Bucks in the second as well

The reason Spoelstra is such a danger is because his standard operating procedure is to play his 5 "Hottest guys" to close out any game. Doesn't care about reputation or what they did yesterday. Simply who's playing well TODAY.

On the other hand BubbleGum Joe is still hesitant to pull a guy who's off and sub him with a guy who's on. Leaving Brogdan or White on the bench to close out a game when they are "on", in favor of someone who's having a lessor day, could cost the Celtics a series.
