Not talked about much is the C's finished the last ten games with a 8-2 record, best in the conference. And it's not like they were resting any less than anyone else in the final stretch.

#3 opponent FTA rate
#3 bench defensive rating
#2 bench net rating
#3 bench true shooting %

It's a really good statistical profile for a team who's missed a combined 125 games from their top 7 guys.

Main weaknesses... Bottom 5 in FTA rate, offensive rebounding %, opponent turnover %.

Celtics became just the 3rd team in NBA history (2023 GSW, 2019 HOU) to record 16 made three-pointers per game in a season. Cs ended up with 6 guys shooting over 38% and Pritchard rallied late in the season to become the 7th guy to shoot above league average (36.1%).

Three of our worst three-point shooters in terms of % took the most attempts per game. Need Jays and Smart to hit at a higher rate. I don’t think we’re going to stop taking them.

Celtics ended up with the #2 offensive rating and #2 defensive rating. Since 1996-97, there have been 25 teams with both top 5 offense and top 5 defense. Only 7 of those teams won the title. Another two went to the Finals.

So basically it means jack **** lol.

Only two teams in the past were top 3 in both — GSW 2015, GSW 2017. They won the title.

Every NBA champion since 2005-06 was in the top 5 of true shooting % in the regular season except the LA title teams (2009, 2010, 2020).

This year’s top 5 in TS%: SAC, PHI, DEN, GSW, BOS.

I'll get this out of the way early,

The Celtics have 5 full days before the start of the playoffs. If the Celtics don't excel on offense playing against a zone defense with 5 days to prepare then Mazzulla should be fired on the spot. No excuses. Miami is going to play exclusively zone defense against the Celtics because they don't match up well in man to man. There should be no reason for Miami's zone defense to give the Celtics trouble.

5 days to prepare!
