Probably doesn’t want questions the next weeks why Springer doesn’t get minutes? He got annoyed last season too, when everybody found out, 82 games before Doc himself, Paul Reed could be a usefull player and media started asking why he didn’t get some run

The official line is "load management due to his G League minutes the past week".

The truth, I suspect, is closer to Wilfried's post.

Yeah I feel you, this should play out like the Wizards 1st round matchup, but with a little more spice. Unfortunately (fortunately?) this time around instead of getting the Hawks afterwards it'll be Celtics.

This is why I'm rooting hard for the Heat. Heat get up to play the Celtics and I can see that series going 6 or 7 games. Brooklyn won't be too bad though. There's a bit of a rivalry between us and Ben is still on the roster. I just don't want any phantom injuries.

Philly may well have the easiest first round opponent in the playoffs. Should be a sweep.

They could defend and make the Sixers think offensively, but they should be so easy to defend.

Is the clown going to be sitting on their bench?

Seems like he's been on the bench down the stretch. Have to give him credit for that, I guess.

i think some are taking this a bit too lightly.

they have a bunch of long athletic wings, guards who can hit pull up jumpers from range, and can get out and run.

all of those things are our weaknesses lol.

Don't think this is as easy as some are making it out to be

Nothing ever comes easy with this team. My only comfort is that Brooklyn will likely get little help from their bench and that is a formula for disaster in the Playoffs (just ask us).

Well of the other lower seeds, they are the only one without true number 1 option play. That's a big deal. Sure, they have a talented team, but lack even a Ben Simmons level playmaker and Bridges should be a 3rd option for a true contender.

This matchup is a great test for Philly's offense, that they need to overcome in impressive fashion in order to feel good about it. Brooklyn's half court offense should be a struggle for them to win a game.

They're pretty much set up to be about as big a challenge as the 2019 matchup vs Brooklyn. Except I think Russell who had a all star year and his 3pt ability, and Allen may have been more legit than what they have now without Simmons on the court.

Get out of this series with Embiid healthy is priority #1. I stand by the Sixers beat the Heat last year if Embiid never blew up his hand and face. The hand in particular. Once he hurt that hand, their playoffs were done. He couldn't shoot, dribble or pass anymore. Then the face made him afraid to bang down low.

Agree. I actually think the Nets are better than the Heat but I want no part of Jimmy Butler in a series. I could see this series going 6 games if Harden isn’t playing at or near his best.

Perhaps, but it's the easiest match-up in the playoffs for us.

Hot Take Alert: I'll be shocked if Mikal Bridges averages over 20 ppg in this series. It's one thing to be getting buckets at the end of the year on a mediocre team, it's another in a playoff series when good teams tighten up their defense.

Consider me one taking it lightly, but if we can't beat them in 5, then we don't really have a realistic chance at winning this.

Anyone thinking the Heat would've been a better match-up are wild'n. Playoff basketball is a whole 'nother sport and this Nets roster has very little experience and has players being asked to step into roles they aren't ready for yet. Embiid will not let us lose to a team like the Nets no matter how hard Doc tries. This is uncharacteristic of me but Sixers in 4.

I don't know man. I'm certainly not going to take them lightly. They've got Dinwiddie and he's a playoff performer for sure. Mikel Bridges is the real deal too. I don't think this will be some walk through sweep. Someone mentioned them not having any kind of bench and I disagree. Cam Thomas can score and will definitely try to do so if he gets in the game. He's going to be hard to stop if he gets going. Nic Claxton has given Joel Embiid fits at times, James Harden isn't going to get his regular season calls and they are athletic enough to really limit him on offense. Tyrese Maxey is going to be an absolute liability trying to guard either Bridges or Dinwiddie. Tobias Harris fails time and time again to be anything more than a supporting player in the postseason. This will not be an easy round for us, but it is our easier opponent if that makes sense. It's also the best case scenario because I'd actually be worried quite a bit more if we were playing Miami instead.

This may go 6 imho. As long as we are fully healthy going into the 2nd round, I am ok with it.

I mean, the Spurs that won the title demolishing the Heatles and had one of the best Playoffs runs ever went 7 games against the Mavs in the first round.

Not that we are on the level of that team but weird things happen on the playoffs because of matchups and adjustments.

Maybe the Nets put a fight, they don't have enough halfcourt scoring or ball handling to be a real threat on the playoffs IMO, but at the end of the day you have to play the games.

Should we beat them on 5 games max? sure, last year we went 6 with the Raptors after having them ready for a clean sheet.
