Good point! Part of me hopes that a contrite Gobert comes to the team and apologizes, says he gets too competitive, and offers to help however he can. SloMo is super competitive too, he should understand that.

Gobert should never have done this, but I wonder if he felt bagged on, with everyone coming after him for making a bad play. Whether you love Rudy or not, he always works hard, and he takes responsibility. He blamed himself last game that KAT didn’t take more shots. I also think this team can’t go very far without he and Naz - our rebounding and defensive issues have been apparent for several years.

I really wish the Wolves would have given Minott some run over the last 20-30 games. I think he could have replaced some part of the McDaniels minutes, but with no real playing time to date there is just no way Finch can throw him into the mix.

While I’m still undecided myself about trading him, I understand why we would consider it. But it also doesn’t mean trade him for just chips. A malt would need to be included as well.

If team chemistry is the issue, we should trade Gobert first. I'm not saying DLo was a great teammate or anything. But that's multiple teammates that have had an issue on the Wolves alone not counting his time on the Jazz.

Meanwhile Butler was the only person who crapped on KAT.

That's right. Sometimes you have to admit a mistake and move on. It looks like Rudy was a mistake.

I'm not reading profs to Kat. 30 pts 8 boards is not bad. And he didn't punch anybody either.

Guest 84 is spot on.

Creating a false dichotomy between trading Towns or Rudy isn’t helpful. It is possible we’d be better off with neither, with both, or with just one of them.

It’s been stated on the board many times. If KAT could grow up mentally and learn to play within himself and control himself, he’d be far more accepted. It won’t fix his defense or the fact he probably won’t be able to let go of being “The Franchise” but we can hope. Otherwise we can still come out ahead on a trade; even if people say otherwise.

I thought Towns did well emotionally this game. I worried we were going to get “Clippers Play-In Towns”

The only problem is 99% of the time when you trade the best player in the deal you lose the deal. You can't replace his talent. I'd rather work on him growing up.

You mean like the Rudy trade. Rudy was the best player in that deal..

Everyone was after Gobert for Towns inbound. It was heat of the moment. They won the game. SlowMo apologize and Gobert apologize. Let give everyone a big hug and move on to Lakers game.

I think this will be more of a team suspension with pressure from the league instead of the league punishing him. Typically inner team issues are handled at a team level.

it wouldn't surprise me if league did since it was public and at a game, rather than like a scuffle in practice behind the doors

we'll see

Jaden should take a lesson from Gobert and punch a teammate instead of a wall next time. This screw us alot harder today.

Was at the game. Crazy night. Didn't know what happened to JAdenm and totally missed the Gobert fight. Some other fans told me what went down. We shot ourselves in the foot big time but still pulled out the win. If I was a Pelcian fan I would be livid.

KAT did not get enough credit for what he did tonight. I know he has been hard to watch in big games but he carried the team at the start of the 4th. Target Center was so dead. We were within two points and fans were not standing up or cheering or anything. I'm guessing the Gobert stuff had fans flustered but damn, there was no hope or belief. Then KAT started hitting some big shots and it brought the place to life.

Ant definitely took it home in the end but I was a little bummed that he was getting MVP chants and all the credit when Towns was one of the major reasons we were even in a position to win.

No Jaden and Naz is going to be a killer for the playoffs though. As I said before I can live with the team flopping now, we have brought so much grief on ourselves. I wont be too mad if they fail.

Tim Connelly is going to have to do some serious thinking this summer.

Honestly, Minnesota has terrible fans, I was season ticket holder during most of KG's time and it was so cringe when they would play KG's video pumping up the crowd during a time out when it would be a close game. People would stand up and cheer after the video, but as soon as play resumed they would sit back down and it would be quiet as a tomb, it was so embarrassing

Trade him. Been asking for it years ago...He's still the same bitchass player whose constantly in his feelings when things aren't going his way, just a selfish, immature man child whose an apparent 8 year 'vet'..

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
