Yea the Gobert punch was stupid, corny, and an awful way to be a teammate, but if the warriors can play thru Draymond knocking out Poole this team can get thru that weak punch from Gobert. Just makes him look super soft.

A bit long winded but some interesting takes regarding the punch…

When ppl talk about trading Towns, I believe it has less to do with his offensive ability and more so everything else that contributes to team chemistry.
We know he’s efficient but his unnecessary fouls render his efficiency useless. His defense is suspect as we all know.
While I’m still undecided myself about trading him, I understand why we would consider it. But it also doesn’t mean trade him for just chips. A malt would need to be included as well.
If team chemistry is the issue, we should trade Gobert first. I'm not saying DLo was a great teammate or anything. But that's multiple teammates that have had an issue on the Wolves alone not counting his time on the Jazz.
Meanwhile Butler was the only person who crapped on KAT.
That's right. Sometimes you have to admit a mistake and move on. It looks like Rudy was a mistake.
I'm not reading profs to Kat. 30 pts 8 boards is not bad. And he didn't punch anybody either.
Massive props to KAT, hope all of these other people saw that when it mattered KAT delivered much to other people's oh he never shows up BS.
Meanwhile Gobert who we spend the gazillion assets on punched out a teammate and helped the other team.

There's a difference between fighting in practice and fighting in a critical playoff level game
Shows lack of priority and commitment.

I don't think the league is going to make a team about to go to the play in suspend a player for it. If anything they'll make him pay a heftier-than-usual fine.

Trade him. Been asking for it years ago...He's still the same bitchass player whose constantly in his feelings when things aren't going his way, just a selfish, immature man child whose an apparent 8 year 'vet'..
Score 60 pts as a center on a team with no real stability and come talk. He carried tonight and he did well last playoffs too (relatively).

You think i care about his stats? Like i care about how many rebounds or meaningless double doubles Love used to accumulate on this team despite both sharing the same ineffective qualities on D and Rim protection. KAT has effectively outsourced his duties as a centre...whilst having none of the redeeming leadership qualities you would expect from someone of his tenure.
He did not do well last playoffs btw. Absolute laughing stock.

Creating a false dichotomy between trading Towns or Rudy isn’t helpful. It is possible we’d be better off with neither, with both, or with just one of them.
It’s been stated on the board many times. If KAT could grow up mentally and learn to play within himself and control himself, he’d be far more accepted. It won’t fix his defense or the fact he probably won’t be able to let go of being “The Franchise” but we can hope. Otherwise we can still come out ahead on a trade; even if people say otherwise.
The only problem is 99% of the time when you trade the best player in the deal you lose the deal. You can't replace his talent. I'd rather work on him growing up.
You mean like the Rudy trade. Rudy was the best player in that deal..
Rare exception but we still can get big value back for Rudy so the jury is still out.

No one is giving big value for Gobert. Was that green font?

There is also a punch to the chest and knocking someone out.

Looks like we are once again the joke of the league today. Such a ridiculously weird day. We need the Timbertrolls back, the goofiness has never left this team. No other team like it.

Don't know if this is totally legit but sounds like it. At the end he says summer not second.

Re: Game 82! The Big One
At the risk of sounding homerish, that Gobert punch was nothing. Draymond could have killed Poole hitting him in the face like that, with a full body motion and follow-through. Gobert punched Anderson in the shoulder from a distance. There's no comparison. I've been hit like that by a teammate during a game - harder, in fact - and five minutes later we were playing together again, no hard feelings. The Wolves overreacted by sending him home IMHO, but I can kind of see why they did it. It certainly was out of bounds but I'm pretty sure it will be water under the bridge.
I'd put the Draymond punch next to it for comparison, but that one seems to be age-restricted on YT. If I'm Draymond, I think twice about reminding people the internet about that incident right before free agency for some lulz.

In case you didn't read the main board msg, Kyle call Gobert the B word was the trigger. Gobert already twitted an apology to team, fan, and Kyle.

Inexcusable by Gobert today.
Immature and embarrassing. This is the fork in the road moment for this organisation.
I would like to see them come down hard on Rudy. Fines/Bans and councilling on how to regulate his emotions.
From the footage I get the feeling he isn't liked on the team.. we may just have to cut our losses..

Re: Game 82! The Big One
I was traveling so I only had the box score and I was curious why Rudy and Jaden played so few minutes...
Couple of REALLY immature acts from 2 of our key players.
The difference is that one is 22 and one is 30 and should know better.
Unfortunately it looks like losing control of his emotions will cost Jaden the rest of this season, I just hope it's a simple injury that will heal naturally and won't need a screw/plate inserted and/or cause him any long term problems, because he has a great shooting stroke.
Got done watching the game, and man, Ant has taken his defense to another level. He may not get superstar calls on the offensive end, but you can see that referees are really starting to respect what he can do on the defensive side of the ball.
Those strips, that block on McCollum was absolutely unreal. And is the first legit 2-way Star we have had since KG.
On a day Ingram could not miss, Ant gave him absolute fits. He would have had 70 without Ant out there.
Ant had a really poor day out there offensively and many careless turnovers and missed FT's. Herb Jones is also a really good defender.
But not for one second did Ant lose his composure and that's what allowed him to finally break through at the end to put us on top.
I'd like to see Finch scheme some better situations for Ant to playmake from, and hopefully with some work in the offseason and more experience he will make another huge leap next year.
We would not have won without KAT's shooting, but he is not moving out there the way that he should.
I don't know if he is just out of shape still or its a product of the injuries.
We were lucky to have players to hide him on defensively today.
He showed great maturity today though and his temperament has been night and day better since coming back from injury, especially with moving on from foul calls/non-calls.
NO 3/21 from 3, McCollum 5/8 from the line, quite a few missed layups, we caught some breaks today too.
Although limiting them to 21 attempts shows we did a pretty good job on their shooters.
We were better without Rudy out there today. Slo-Mo did Finch a favor getting him sent home.
Something tells me that wasn't the first time he's been called the B-Word this year by his teammates.
Own up to your mistakes.
Unfortunately, we really need Gobert to have the game of his life vs Davis and the Lakers.
KAT can't handle Davis and it's too late in the year to change up the scheme we have that we built completely around Rudy.
Nice game by Prince and we are really, really going to need that going forward from him.
I thought NAW played some great defense and got jobbed by the refs a few times.
Some really awful calls today when players were in good guarding position and not reaching with their hands, which all went to Ingram and McCollum but nobody else for some reason. I really wish the league would eliminate body contact fouls like that when the player is in good guarding position and not fouling with their hands. It felt like the Pels were playing a video game with the foul sliders all the way up for those 2 guys, even when they pretty clearly pushed off on a couple of them.
They should eliminate calling all this marginal body contact and concentrate on the hands, it would make the game so much better like baseball is doing speeding up the game with the pitch clock and getting rid of the ridiculous shifts this year.
We almost blew it at the end again and could really use another good ballhandler/FT shooter in the rotation like a TJ McConnell.
