Celtics were without Tatum, Brown, Al Horford, Rob, Brogdan and Smart.

An alternative perspective:

Pts. + Rebounds + (0.5 x Assists) + Steals + (0.5 x Blocks) - Missed FGs - (0.5 x Missed Free Throws) - Turnovers - (0.5 x Fouls)

+31 Payton Pritchard (46 minutes) 7 Turnovers Best game ever as a Pro
+27.5 Mike Muscala (33 minutes) I didn't think he was capable of this type of game
+26.5 Sam Hauser (38 minutes) Best game ever as a Pro

+14.5 Luke Kornet (33 minutes)

+7.5 J. Davison (35 minutes)
+7 Mifondele Kabengele (19 minutes)
+2 Blake Griffin (5 minutes)
+1.5 Derrick White (5 minutes)
+1.5 Justin Champagnie (20 minutes)
+1 Grant Williams (6 minutes)

Team Total = 120

Lost the bet.

Brogdon 26 vs Bucks on 2/14 followed by 25 vs Pistons next night.

After all the hub-bub, the C's still finish the season with nearly 60 wins. Do just a little less resting and they could've easily gotten there if they really wanted it.

I could be wrong, but I don't think it was 'resting' that really cost them though. It was loss of focus/intensity. Maybe that went along with the 'rest' mandate from the top, all year long, but 60 wins were there for the taking if they beat WAS, HOU, and ORL at least goddamned once, and they had the players needed to win those games.

All forgiven if they win #18 this year

Thanks much appreciated!

The real work starts now haha. Have to come up with 4-7 thread titles all for the same opponent.

Heat:

If we ever lose to them, there's

Similarly, on beating them there are various ice/snow/cool/frigid/nor'easter possibilities.

Hawks:

There are talon/talented puns, along with all the generic bird ones.

Also, Georgia --> peaches, which can be squished. Also, about half of all Atlanta addresses are on Peachtree Blvd/St/Road/etc/etc, so Peachtree can be chopped down. (But it's one word, not two.)

And of course Trae may or may not hit treys and Young may age badly.

Above all, to borrow a phrase from one of the best selling novels AND best-selling movies in US history, Atlanta can be Gone With The Wind ... all the more because Hawks ride the wind, or attempt to. "Hawks Gone With The Wind" would be a great title for an elimination thread.

As Van Gundy mentioned, was active on both ends and did not look like a guy who was on a brand new team.

For a 21 yr old with barely any NBA experience, who's only gotten 1 practice under his belt with us (assuming we practiced yesterday but maybe not?), you can't ask for anything more.

Assuming he'll be on the summer league team and have a shot to make the roster next season.

My guess is that he's here because there's very-small-sample-size evidence that he's had a breakthrough, and the Celtics are taking a low-probability flyer that it turns out to be genuine.

Payton smoking the cigar, and well deserved. What a game he had! He likely won't be here next year, and if that proves to be the case, I will miss him. The truth of the matter is, though, that he will not see the playing time he deserves here, and he will benefit from getting a chance somewhere else. I expect the Celtics will do what they can to accommodate him. He's a gamer, and talented, and wherever he lands, he will find success. Hauser has shown that he is a rotation player that can put up points, and defends well. Hard to believe he went undrafted, and we are fortunate to have him. Muscala was a great pick up at the deadline. Looking forward to the playoffs.

PP was crazy good in this game.

I wonder if the Cs are going to get a 1st rounder for PP.

PP already made it clear this will be his last season in Boston.

It's just a matter of what the Cs will get for him.

I have no idea but like suggested be PN our very high 2nd round pick should at least move us up in the draft to get a better player..

A potential win win for everyone.

I liked Champagnie based on his college stats, and he did find some ways to contribute today, but...he just doesn't look like an NBA player right now. Didn't pass the eye test.

I am guessing that we simply wanted him in Maine. I wouldn't mind him in Maine, he's a good G League player who may emerge as a good NBA player somewhere in the future.

I thought Hauser was pretty awesome in this one.

PP is like a microwave. Instant points off the bench. He would definitely thrive on another team. 6th man on a contender. He will even be better given consistent minutes. Sucks we can’t give that to him. PP and Hauser can hold down the offense when the Jays rest. If i’m being honest, this team is a heavily 3pt shooting team, and PP and Hauser fits right in, and sadly Smart doesn’t. I hope Joe realizes this. Having Smart in to finish games is what’s holding this team back!

Went Pritchard for being ready coming off injury to come in and pump up that trade value with a couple solid performances.

Crazy that PP got a 30 point tripple double... Just wild. Career high for Muscala. 26 for Sam.. Now it's time to perform.
Good assessment:

Fun way to end the RS.

PP boosting his trade value. Amazing that a guy like that is our 5th guard. He's better than a decent number of PG starters around the league.

Davison actually looks like an NBA player now. Not a particularly good one, but at least he is not a complete wtf out there.

Muscala can't defend a chair but he hustles and can score from anywhere. Good pickup.

Champagnie looked pretty solid in his first game. He's got a chance to be a Bruce Bowen 3-and-D guy in a couple of years. Made a couple nice touch passes too.

Hauser is a rich man's Duncan Robinson at 1/10th of the cost. And he plays better D. Stevens >>> Riley.

On to 18!

Hopefully this makes Pritchard tradeable.
