Re: Trade Discussion 22/23
Having fun with the trade machine.
DAL Receives: E. Gordon + Bamba + Vanderbilt + Batum + LAL FRP
LAL Receives: SnT Kyrie
LAC Receives: SnT D'Lo
LAL gets their guy they want. Self explanatory.
LAC upgrades talent in the back court. They might particularly like this if Westbrook wilds out for the worst in the playoffs.
DAL gets 4 good role players that all can play meaningful minutes or start on the current roster. All players are on good or easily tradeable contract situations. The FRP is cherry on top. Though that's likely the deal breaker for the Lakers unless Lebron forces their hand (which he tends to do).
We do this, we get flexible contracts and a very attractive LAL pick to make a bigger move.

Re: Trade Discussion 22/23
Kinda official that Wood is not coming back. That leaves McGee as the only real center on the team at the moment.
Which means if Mavs resign Kyrie, they will be operating at ABOVE salary cap table which will be at 134M for the next season. Tax level will be at 162M, so that leaves them with a small room to even resign any other players who were on the team last season.
By resigning Kyrie, and if they make no trades, they'll be eligible for only MLE and vet min contracts. Because they'll be already 10M+ above salary cap.
Obviously trades are coming up but this just shows how incredibly bad money situation is for this team right now. Biggest problems are Bertans and THJ. Both combined are owed over 34M and have long term deals.
Then there are Bullock and McGee. Bullocks' contract becomes only 5M if he's waived but that's still 10M as or right now which is basically terrible for the talent he brings. I would say same goes for McGee. So all in all, 44M for players that give you almost nothing and all of them have long term deals.

Not bad at all. I love JV and he'd be a wonderful addition to the team. The Kyrie experiment was a swing & a miss, if the team double downs and pays him a max or anything close to it, ruin the franchise.

I dont think you can add multiple players to a S&T but I could be mistaken.
I'd probably be on board with that since there are some young players coming back to us.
Sadly, that might be the best we could do in a Kyrie deal.

Re: Trade Discussion 22/23
Heat might look for Bam Adebayo trades in the offseason after getting bounced. His continous subpar performance doesnt indicate he is a max player at all. One take away from this season is Bam cant play center anymore. Too small. Especially for Capela getting 21 rebounds over him. #10 + THJ for Bam? Who says no?
Will a team with Bam + Gobert work? Surely you lose 3 point shooting but gain tremendous ground on defense. Those two seem to be on their way out of their respective teams. Especially Gobert.
C - Gobert
PF - Adebayo
SF - Green
SG - Doncic
PG - Irving

Re: Trade Discussion 22/23
Watching Rui contributing in the playoffs and being a solid wing rotation player. Still blows my mind how cheap Lakers got him. And some people here didn't like him even for 3 2nd round picks, just blows my mind how this FO can't see the talent even if it's right infront of them.
Also, Capela with 21 rebounds... i forgot how it is to have a real center that can grab rebounds.

Miami says hell no and laughs at us for even suggesting it. Bam is the perfect size for a center in the modern NBA. He's was the best defender in the league last year by a good margin and can switch onto the perimeter.
And no, that line up would not work in the modern NBA.

Why would Altanta do that? They're going to running back with Kyrie and Trae Young on the court at the same time? That is the worlds ultimate hat on a hat.
Also dallas is fresh out of 2nd round picks.

Clearly didnt work for Heat fans today. Pat Riley in his pajamas eating porridge at 5pm needs to go as well. Bam couldnt get a rebound against Capela today.

He got 9. Capela played his ass off but if we are going to pretend Capella isn't one of the best rebounders in the league to begin with then we're just being delusional.

Bam would eb awesome, but we dont have near the assets to get him.
But we should eb on the phone with Miami for a S&T involving Kyrie and Herro, but need a 3rd team who would want Tyler

High chance Kyrie goes to Lakers. D-Lo laid an egg today for his supposed revenge game. Stat padder could not be depended on for big games. Lakers might have a change of heart and actually forego signing D-Lo to sign Kyrie instead. In which case they do not need Mavs permission to work out a S&T. Vandebilt is a Rich Paul client. He can be let go with a wink wink agreement and re-signed to the MLE. If the Mavs want Malik Beasley who is THJ 2.0, then Nico can sign him, I guess?

Re: Trade Discussion 22/23
If we can convince Poeltl to sign here who would TOR take off our hands to help us minimize salary cap impact to do a sign and trade? Kleber and McGee maybe. That would be a dream come true if you ask me. If they wanted THJ or Bullock even more so. To add a starting quality center like Poeltl and not have it impact the cap would be awesome. Then we can add players in the draft with our pick to gamble on guys like GG Jackson and Zach Edey especially if we trade down with someone to add a 2nd or even third pick.

Big game by Lavine today. Still remember seeing comments earlier in the season on this board like "Bertans could average the same #s as him with the same shot attempts or "Lavine is just THJ in a bigger market." At one point I remember someone saying Bulls should give US a FRP to take him.
Good times. Too bad the guy's value is completely out of our reach now

McGee is bad. THJ for his money now is break even. Bullock has positive value at 10 million, Dallas set him up for failure asking him to guard the opposing teams number 1 guy. If he’s guarding the 2nd or 3rd guy he’s good. And we all know Bertans is a top 5 worst contract in the last 25 years.
THJ is barely a step down from 6MOY level play. His money is only made ineffective because it’s money spent on offense when we need defense.

Mavs tried to trade THJ and they couldn't, he doesn't have a positive value. Same goes for Bullock. No one wants Bullock because he looks like he's done. If they were in their final season, sure, but the real indicator is when they have multiple seasons left and no one wants a player. It's literally no better indicator of how teams see these type of players.
THJ could have some value if he played as a bench guy strictly providing offense in short bursts but his inability to stay consistent throughout the season is a huge problem. This team went to WCF without him lol.

I dont think Bullock is done by any stretch, he's a quintessential role player any team would be happy to have. I agree 100% with you on THJ, and we'll disagree on this part, but team making the WCF without, same can be said for Green. The team all but benched him in the post season last year and it paid dividends. I know we as a fanbase want to put our eggs in the basket of young guys who have potential, btu Green isn't the one. I think Hardy has more upside between the 2.

The Bertans comment is outlandish, but Lavine's contract si super scary given his injury history and lack of D. With that said, much rather have him than Kyrie since the latter is a toxic narcissist in addition to the big issues Zach also comes with.
