Imo Raptors can supliment what Trent gives them easly with cheap contract. He didn't play in last 3 games, they won all 3. Two were against WIzards and Pistons so whatever, but they beat Heat on defense and grit.
Trent doesn't really fit what they do. He is meh defender who is high usage volumen shooter who doesn't do anything when he doesn't shoot. Raptors are one of those teams that can use Gary Harris. Give him 6 shots a night off bench and call it a day.

I can easily see Orlando and Toronto ending up with each other's SGs. G-Harris is probably a good fit to what Toronto is doing. And Orlando needs a SG willing to at least try to shoot.
..
I know you are not a Fultz fan, but I kind of like this team:
Fultz/Anthony/some-dude
Trent/Suggs/rookie-1
F-Wagner/Okeke/Bol
Banchro/rookie-2/Isaac
Carter/M-Wagner/Bitadze
Maybe Orlando could flip Suggs and Okeke into a nice backup combo-wing, 3rd-string PF and a future asset to make it even better.
If something like that is next year's opening roster, I think the team is a lock to exceed 41 game in the W column.

I'd be hard pressed to actually bring him in at this point.

VanVleet is a fascinating case of eye test v. advanced metrics.
His advanced metrics are really good and would rank as the best on the Magic by a mile.
18th in the NBA in RAPTOR
30th in the NBA in EPM
36th in the NBA in BPM
48th in the NBA in RPM
But many will tell you that he doesn’t pass their eye test and that they have no interest.
I’d absolutely take him if he wanted to come here. He’s a much better basketball player than Trent Jr.

The chance Weltman brings Kyrie in to Orl is 0.00000001%

It depends if Kyrie decides he wants to play in Orlando or not. I think it's Kyrie's choice, not Weltman'sjezzerinho wrote:p0peye wrote:Kyrie, Trae and even Dončić might be realistic options this offseason next to FVV who would be fallback. Weltman outright stated in the closing interview that he expects to do a SnT deal this off-season.
