The good thing about that 2nd half happening is they have something to talk about and improve on. Get it out of the way early. Hawks are outmatched. Only way Cs lose is if they lose focus and/or Hawks get hot from 3.

It’s inexcusable for our starters to have to play heavy minutes (upper 30s in minutes) against the Hawks especially when up 30+. This is what can come back to haunt us deep in the playoffs when guys are gassed. It’s imperative we sweep them now

Everybody played pretty well.

Smart had some questionable offensive moments, but was vintage Smart on defense.

Al looked great defensively.

Tatum dominated early but disappeared a bit in the second (only 4 points in second half).

Brown was a bucket but also too many turnovers.

White was great. No qualifiers.

White gets the cigar, was great on offense and had Trae in a blender. Everyone for the most part played well, they got nothing out of Hauser or Brogdon though. Wouldn’t expect that two games in a row.

Trae and Murray were awful. Celtics turnovers and slacking off in the third let them back in the game but I don’t see how Atlanta manages to win a game in this series quite frankly

Not to mention there's also three days between games 1 and 2, and games 2 and 3. Rest right now isn't an issue.

Robert williams being healthy when it matters just hits different. I have my doubts he will stay healthy throughout the playoffs. Just give us one playoff run rob. Just one.

Then why am I bothered?

As great as we were in the first half (actually not THAT great - some dumb shots & TOV mixed in w a 30 point domination), we were equally as bad in Q3 & the first 4 minutes of Q4 literally giving away 20 points of our lead - before waking up enough to maintain a 12-15 point lead. And we have done this **** over & over & over again this season - especially VS inferior teams. That is why!

How did it happen?
JT MVP in first half & left for LAZY planet in the second half. His great line is misleading.
#7 mostly very good in first half & WAS AWFUL IN THE SECOND HALF. His great line is also misleading & included his usual 6 mother **** BRAIN DEAD TOV - part of the reason I want him GONE this summer.
Smart was excellent in first half, reverted to pseudo Steph during our 16 minutes of **** in the second, & then made 2 important D plays down the stretch - which should NOT have been necessary.
DERRICK **** CARRIED US DURING OUR **** STRETCH - & was our best player today.
Brog was atypically off today.
Rob was fantastic in the first half & disappeared in the second half.
Big Al saved our asses down the stretch on both ends w a huge make & great D.

We easily could have lost this game & set a record for the largest lead lost in CELTIC PO history VS a really good team!

We will still win R1, but now the Hawks have renewed confidence & they will not shoot 2% from 3 again.
It will be harder to put them down.

I guess I'm harder on Joe than everyone but i hate the plan of slowing the game in the 2nd half, we walked it up the entire 2nd half and it was mostly ugly. we are at our best when the ball and bodies fly and that includes on D too.
