38/13 only happened 3 times this whole season.

35/15 only happened 2 times this whole season.

Trae Young just put those lines up in back-to-back playoff games against the No. 2 ranked defense in the NBA.

But yeah 15% of NBA players polled think he’s overrated or whatever.

Made a HUGE shot but he's getting targeted and killed on defense too

38 and 13 to win a road playoff game where they were major underdogs with their second best player suspended and we are talking talking about defense?

C’mon now.

This whole game showed the good and bad of Trae young.

Yes, Trae made the game winning shot in a game where he had 38 and 13 and he and the hawks played extremely hard. However, the game winning shot was a terrible shot, his shot selection as whole was terrible, he took 33 shots to get 38 points, and his defense is still bad. And to be honest Boston blew this game, that smart foul when Trae couldn't hit anything was a killer. It doesn't matter because the hawks won but I just don't like Trae's brand of basket.

You are just looking at the stats from a surface level though. If you actually watching how he is getting these numbers, you can understand why there are trade rumors around him despite the numbers he is putting up, why he missed the all-star game, and why many see him as overrated.

Huge game for Trae. Such a clutch 3 to close the game. He hit 4 in the last 4 minutes I think.

They were down Murray too.

I just hate the player he has become. He doesn't trust his team and passes only when he's absolutely stuck. It's a bunch of hail mary's that he hopes goes in. And he isn't Curry.

He had a GREAT last few minutes though. The defense at the end I blame on Snyder. There is NO reason Trae should be playing defense with less than 10 seconds to go and coming off of a timeout.

If Trae had Curry's efficiency and with the number of attempts he is taking, Trae would avg 50 a game lol.

We’ve been so deprived of an offensive monster since T-Mac that some of us have rationalized that lesser, more obscure things are more important than putting the ball in the damn hoop. At an elite level….and, btw, that’s what assists look like, we only get those from 6’10 guys in ORL

Trae’s not perfect. Neither was Iverson. Even Bird used to get roasted (every damn time) by Dominique’s little brother…but he’d hang 35 on him and win.

Exactly why I’m not ecstatic about the possibility of us acquiring him.

He is a high usage guy that’s why he outs up big numbers. Although he is a good playmaker, tbh. But that’s just it.

He is a wannabe steph curry lol

I stand corrected.

He is the GOAT.

We do not need Young. He couldn't defend. Yes, he is a genius offensive weapon. But I still hope we can go after someone in Free Agency like Austin Reaves

Yeah if you actually watched the game he was locked down until the final 3 minutes of the game scoring wise.

It seemed like Boston thought the game was over at that point as they were up by 10 and Trey went off. Celtics played poorly down the stretch and Trey stepped up but he wasn't that good for most of the game.

Trae Young is an all-star player.

The cost of what it will take to get him isn't going to be worth his impact, imo.

But yea, it's impossible to question his talent

In last 5 min he grabbed screener and rotated him to pass him through, than he cried for obvious foul, than he flopped in attemp to get foul on Hunter.

Where is the And-2 button?

Your team is down one, so you take a 35 foot 3-pointer whilst being closely guarded. What a joke. I guess the only thing that made sense is that a miss would have had a 50/50 rebounding chance.

Young is exactly what Dominique Wilkins was to the Hawks: a highlight real. I don't want highlights. I want wins. I would take a Jimmy Butler over a Trae Young every chance I get.

I think no one is arguing that. But it´s a matter of who is available, at what price. Not just say a wish and you get it, and if you dont get perfect two-way winning-proofed player, just do nothing. In order to start more winning, we need to improve. In order to improve, we need to do moves that are possible.

When a Luke Kennard or Austin Reaves can do more for a roster than a Trae Young, yes a player is being over hyped.

Seriously, I'm not going to argue with such a ridiculous statement. Saying that Kennard or Reaves are better for us than Trae Young :banghead: we already have a high-3% plus D SG, and still we´re 6th worst team in nba. You overvalue role players and undervalue one of the best offensive weapons in whole league, who would be by far the best playmaker we ever had since Penny.
Markelle playin his best season, had a season high 10 Assists. Trae AVERAGES more than that. in regular season, and in playoff round against probably best defensive PG of whole league.
