I'm not buying that Embiid is actually hurt. It seems like Rivers is trying to get any advantage he can by trying to throw Boston through a loop or something I don't know.

Boston will have to play better they did against Atlanta if they want to get past Philly. I don't care if Boston has owned Philly the past few years Philly is a good team and Boston hopefully won't take them lightly

Agreed this could be a really tough series. Also feel like if Harden is really leaving that that historically tends to create a lot of playoff implosion potential so there’s that.

Posts like this that say “hey this could happen but it also really could be the complete opposite” totally suck but I’m giving myself a pass on this one. Exception that proves the rule lol.

Please just **** protect home court the rest of these playoffs. No letdowns needing to win multiple road games in a series to advance it’s too stressful at times lmao

Only once since then have they even gone deeper into the playoffs than the Cs did. (The Iverson Finals year, of course.)

I agree. Win the 1st two, then this is over in 5. Lose one of the first 2, then this goes to 6 or 7. The goal this series is to run and attack inside. The sixers ain’t a young team. They can’t keep up if we run before the D has time to set up. If we do that, that will wear those sixers vets.

Thats how I see it going too. Just a matter of if the Celtics drop game 3 or 4. Won't drop both. Philly could beat this team if things broke right but I feel that Philly is way too mentally damaged vs Boston to do something significant.

I feel good about this matchup like most all of us. The flopping and officiating will be frustrating, but confident we’ll overcome it like we’ve done most every time against Embiid. That being said… Tatum has to show up better than last series, Smart can’t get baited into showing what a great defender he is and commit fouls, Jaylen has to take advantage of his matchup because nobody can guard him with Melton on Tatum, Al has to take advantage of open 3’s because he’ll get a ton, and we’ve got to rebound better than we did against Atlanta. Joe’s gotta be good at rotations this series too and ride the hot hands better too. Game 6 down the stretch he made great adjustments with the Smart sub, how he brought him back in at a different role even, the Grant plug and play, and Joe deserves the credit. Doc is not an X’s and O’s wizard as we all know, so this could be a big series towards Joe’s growth as a coach and confidence.

I don't feel good about any matchup this year because what we've got is a Jeckyl and Hyde team. A four and a half minute stretch of outstanding basketball against the Hawks was enough to win despite a completely lackluster 42 minutes before that. As the playoffs progress they will have less and less margin to overcome those lackluster stretches of my turn your turn one pass and one shot basketball.

well, we definitely didn’t make much of a concerted effort to go at Trae specifically with Tatum or Brown, but like you said, they have a lot of poor perimeter defenders that will be starting on Tatum and Brown most likely.

I could see this series going either way, and I have no idea how we’ll guard Embiid (in the sense of coverage) but I think we’ll mostly be okay if we can keep them away from offensive boards.
