Nurse is the dude. If we don't have a more experienced tactical coach in the hopper already then this was a stupid firing.

Bud did amazing as a 1st time head coach but he got figured out and couldn't adjust even with better personnel than Miami had available. Bud also couldn't control Giannis from bowling people over or Khris from trying to Kobe. Miami could game plan 7 ft powerhouse Giannis out of a game but we couldn't do it to Butler.

Getting an inexperienced coach isn't going to control them either.. it has to be some either really smart, really tactical or successful playoff experienced guy.

I like Nurse.. hopefully he's in the hopper already. Or if there's someone better idk

Are you forgetting his Atlanta stint?

I would think Brad is in the front office because he wants to be there.

They rejoiced after his firing.

In many ways, he is the opposite of Bud. Very willing to adjust on the fly, but also willing to overwork his players.

Did they? A bunch of them thought it was idiotic and that he was a scapegoat.

Nurse is leading the pack for me but there are a few things of concern.

1. Player burnout/relationship. Not uncommon for any coach to struggle with this after year 4 or 5. Either way didn't leave on good terms with not only the players but the organization.

2. Player development. Did a great job developing talent but how much of it was a product of coaching vs Masai brining in talent?

3. Player Health. Raptors top 8 played a ton of minutes in the regular season compared to the Bucks. There's just no way he can pull this off here if we bring mostly the same cast back.

The majority, from what I observed, rejoiced. I'm sure Nurse had factions of supporters.

Sam Cassell spent the last decade on Doc River's staff, I like both those guys on a personal level but not direction I want to go with coach for sure.

Lue was on Doc's staff for awhile though. Never know what the assitant coach is going to be like until you see them in action.

Sort of feel like your list accomplished that.

I think you go Nurse all the way, IF Giannis talks with him and weighs in.

Nurse is the **** these guys need at the moment.

I cannot stand seeing Nick Nurse get credited for “Developing talent” that Dwayne Casey had already developed. Unfortunately for Casey, he ran into the buzzsaw that was this LEBRON JAMES fella every year. Nurse gets the job and miraculously doesn’t have to play LeBron.

What's his excuse for a 80-222 record that's gotten worse every season over the last four?

Seemed like FVV took it to another level under Nurse and Pascal was in year 3 so that's hard to tell. OG beside his rookie is all Nurse.

This is some stats of guys when Casey left too, I wouldn't exactly say they blossomed under him.

We don't need to develop talent right now other than MarJon. We have plenty of talent. We need to take that talent and win another God Damn championship.

The more I’m reading on Jordi Fernandez, the more I’m liking. Would love to see him get an interview.

Nurse is the most slam dunk decision especially if we’re running it back and looking at a 1-2 year window. If it doesn’t work out then we hire the younger coach with upside and start a soft rebuild trying to get younger around Giannis.

This team has way too many defensive minded/two way players to not hire the best defensive coach in the league.
No more one-trick pony systems. Our players need to be drilled in various types of defense through the regular season in order to be ready to adjust to specific teams and players in the post season.

Force more bricks = more opportunities in transition

Oops, ty forgot that. He was descent there and better with us. Those missed timeout calls aren't acceptable from a championship coach though and a few mistakes/adjustments and we're still in the playoffs rn. We were up double digits at the end of the games and we had players jacking up shots with 20 seconds on the clock -- regularly..

If our players think Nurse is more dialed in and can out think other coaches that will build confidence to listen to him in those situations--slow down, patience ball movements etc.. that we couldn't sustain in certain playoff series... letting teams battle back late, giving away leads with dumb turnovers by playing too fast with a big lead is just illogical... a coach needs to control that.. if Nurse showed he is at that level then let's go..
