Agent is Klutch, they organize to extend contract during season once on Lakers

Ehh, do we really need another small guard anyways?

Yeah I think so. I think Schröder will get decent offers and won't be kept.

PG: FVV (36) | DLo (12)
SG: DLo (18) | Reaves (30)
SF: LeBron (36) | Reaves (6) | Rui (6)
PF: Vando (24) | Rui (24)
C : Davis (36) | Bamba/Gabriel (12)

Would rather have Caruso + other options

Do we really want Caruso back?

I love Caruso, but turning 30 next Feb, some injuries piling up, and he can't shoot it too well

How would he fit on this team with Vando, bigs who cant shoot, AD who has lost his jumper, and Bron (who knows how his jumper looks next year)?

AD has got to be one of the most frustrating stars ever, weaksauce man. Wasted a great LeBron effort too, dude was on fire to start this game, all he needed was for AD to show up but he disappeared like usual. Credit to Kerr and Draymond though, championship level org year in year out.

He would mostly play as a Schroder replacement, before inevitable CP buyout. I get Caruso scepticism, but think they would have to lean on defensive idenity, cuz Dlo and Davis too inconsistent and Lebron is old, so the offense kinda capped at being average anyway

The other route would be to move Dlo for a more dynamic offensive player, just not sure they wanna do it with new CBA being so restrictive

I mean you still need to be able to shoot too though right?

We have a good defense already

If we could swing #17 and some combination of 2029 1st, 2 swaps and 2nds plus Beasley and or Bamba, who would you want?

I wonder what it would take to get OG

D'lo, OG, Vando, Lebron, AD
Dennis (mle), Reaves, ?, Rui, ?

I don't see what dynamic offensive players are out there that work. I believe you have pointed out Beal and Lavine

Not even sure which is better, their advanced metrics are barely better than Dlo though

Their injury history is also pretty concerning

FVV is the right fit I think.

Dennis isn't as good as Fred.. not close IMO

If it turns into offensive series moving forward, I'm not sure they can survive. Better hope GS start turning the ball and missing shots

Caruso is a better shooter than Dennis, don't see what's the problem

They are good defensively, but not great

As for potential trades - they won't go for a home run trade, pretty sure #17 will be off the table. Beal and Lavine are better but much more expansive, don't see them going after one of these. Current team is not far off from contention, just need 1-2 more playoff proof rotation guys + health

His motor was much better back then.

2023 LeBron probably gets swept in the finals in place of 2015 LeBron.

Yeah I’m actually impressed with his defense at this age

but the offensive volume isn’t there anymore. 2015 was a down year but atleast he could still scale up his volume back then.

I think they should start Rui or Schroder and make Reaves the 6th man. He is losing his legs chasing Klay around and they badly need his offense. Cant get to a rhythm and cant guard Klay offball. He had trouble with Bane as well

If he scored in the 3rd and 4th they'd say he scored in garbage time. Now it's garbage 1st quarter points.

He should only score at the break or something.

Game was lost at mid 3rd when they opened a 20 point gap. So... yeah, dude looked gassed and shots were short in the 3rd. So what? He's almost 40!

You need to define close.

In spurts yes, but he can't bring his A game for a looot of minutes like he used to.

So I'd say on that alone he's not close.

Plus, even with the shot not falling and hobbled ankle/back, James still had the reputation and on-ball control to completely handle the pace of games and force rotations/the kitchen-sink to be thrown at him (resultedly giving him ATG+ playmaking in that series). He's not doing such anymore with the lesser first-step and off-the-dribble bounce. I think 2021 before the ankle injury was the last we've seen such ability game in and game out.
