I can't wait until next year when they are mandated to go through the combine. It boggles my mind why players won't even get measured. Teams are going to do it during a private workout anyways.
Cason Wallace measured out shorter than expected but 6'9 is a pretty ridiculous wingspan for a 6'3 guy.
Sasser also showing a good wingspan for a PG at 6'7.
A bit underwhelmed by Hendrick's wingspan. Was hoping for closer to 7'2-7'3.
Keyontae Johnson's +7 wingspan to go with his frame is a plus.
Whitehead with solid measurements.
Whitmore's a bit underwhelming.
TJD's wingspan was solid. Could allow him to play a more athletic Xavier Tillman type of role.
Edey is just a massive human. If he can develop a pick and pop 3, and gets in the right system I think he's an NBA player.
This team could really use a 6th man combo guard Lou-Will type player. We got killed in the 30% of minutes that Banton, Flynn and Barton were on the court.
Putting a Lou Williams type on our bench up against the Malcolm Brogdons of the NBA world will result in failure.
Brogdon is a better player, but if Trent leaves and OG is our starting 2 and we don't draft a guard at #13 or take a young guy not quite ready as a rookie to be the man off the bench, I'd take a Lou-Will type to lead the bench. If that happens and we don't get a return for Trent, our bench is Koloko-Achiuwa-Boucher-OttoPorter and zero guards I'd feel comfortable with eating 15 minutes a night. If the MLE or a purchased 2nd rounder brings back a Lou Williams, that would be an excellent result.
Where's the D?

Re: 2023 Draft Discussion Part 4
Leonard Miller is perfect for OKC. The more I learn about him, the more I see how seamlessly he fits into that roster. I think they'll try to move up to take Taylor Hendricks, but if that doesn't happen, then Miller is a good backup plan. He's doing great at the combine, and his stock seems to be rising enough that he might make it into the lottery.
Current Rough Mock Draft
Picks 1-3: Wembanyama, Henderson, B.Miller
Picks 4-11 (in some order): Am.Thompson, Au.Thompson, Hendricks, Walker, Whitmore, Black, Wallace, Dick
OKC at 12: L.Miller
If that ends up happening, the guys on my short list at #13 would be Coulibaly, Bufkin, Hawkins, and Sensabaugh. I also really like Marcus Sasser, and he's looking great at the combine, but I probably wouldn't take him ahead of the four players I just mentioned.

TJD also with the huge vert!!!
Keyontae Johnson, shorter than I thought though.
Hendrick's stocks are fine.

Said this as well. They also scouted him a lot last year at Fort Erie, along with Toronto who interviewed him last year. Thought he was way too raw last season to even pick at 33 but he came back and had a strong year. His range I think is OKC at 12 - Utah 16.

Emoni getting buckets in scrimmage. I think he was giving Podz a bucket in one clip.

JHS is not a PG at the NBA level, neither is Black. They are combo guards.

Why can't Black be a Full-time prototypical PG like he was in college?

In Raptor Ball I Trust

Usually, for me a combo has that negative connotation of being an undersize shooting guard who can occasionally act as a secondary playmaker.
To me, Black and JHS are different being more pass centric. Black is probably the best passer in the class outside of maybe Amen Thompson. JHS filled in as a the primary PG for Indiana and ran pick and roll well - although 90% of the offense felt like it went through their big man.
I really love their size and because of their good lateral quickness I could see them hold up defensively at POA.

Toronto may end up with the 13 pick and draft this guy who could go nuclear in the NBA. His numbers yesterday are not even discussed:
(1) Off the dribble 24/30
(2) 3 point star drill 19/25
6'9 shooting guard with 6'9 wingspan at 179 lbs is skinny, but he is a born hooper.

Sasser is a good athlete, great shooter and good hands and wingspan for his size that should allow him to compete in the NBA. I can't see why he doesn't get first round consideration given this is a shooter's league.

Because he's 22 years old already.
