Had a buddy tell me he heard on NBA Countdown Nurse is in on the Bucks, so I got excited to find nothing here, on Twitter, or on Google about it. So he clearly can't hear or someone misspoke on the broadcast.

I still stand by the theory that Nurse has been the guy this whole time, the Bucks are bringing in these other guys for protocol and PR purposes.

Awesome, hopefully that's correct. I don't understand him at least interviewing even if he's lukewarm on the idea of coming here.

The NBA doesn't have a version of the Rooney rule or a set protocol for interview requirements, and if anything they're taking a PR hit by having their names linked to guys like Mark Jackson, Doc Rivers, and other loser coaches. If they wanted Nurse and Nurse wanted to be the head coach, he'd simply just be the HC by now.

No Rooney rule, but the NBA is a league of favors. The only logical reason for a Jackson interview is as a favor to Klutch, who represents both Nurse and Lue.

It is strange to hear absolutely nothing on the Nurse front. But his camp hasn't expressed interest publicly in any job yet.

Nurse doesn't appear to be the hot commodity in the league this board thinks he is. He'll get a job but there's definitely hesitation.

Shortly before the end of their season he said he would "take a few weeks" to decide if he wanted to come back. When their season ended he said "I love it here". Then he was fired.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I think I could honestly stomach anyone besides Doc Rivers. I’d even be willing to not hate Mark Jackson immediately. Rivers I’ll just never understand how he’s still living off a reputation he built so long ago coaching 4 HoFers and still only winning 1 title. Even at the world in the palms of his hands he still proved to be a rather inadequate coach. Add 15 more years and he’s the ultimate king of blowing a series lead in the post season. Can’t fathom for the life of me what pros even interviewing a bozo like Rivers can have other than what not to look for.. and in my defense I never said I’d stop watching, I just said I’d fund the billboard to try and get Horst fired! Lol. I’d never stop watching the Bucks, ever.
I'm flipped. I could kind of talk myself into Doc. At least he's generally won for years and seems well liked so he could probably hire a good staff. Now it would be super weird to fired bud for playoff failures only to hire a guy with a longer lists of them.

Jackson is the one I just couldn't even trick myself into being ok with.

Yeah the best part about Doc would likely be the staff he brought with him and Mark Jackson is a kool aid drinker so I mean you could make cases either way no doubt.

I think the list of who we haven't interviewed might be larger than who we have at this point.

Hope so. Would like a coach who can emote. As opposed to all emotions displaying facially as "now where is my fart stuck?"

EDIT: Prez beat me to it. Sounds like Nurse will meet with Bucks FO and ownership.

It's about time
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

Especially what could be one of Giannis last years in prime (whether he starts to fall off a cliff or takes his talent somewhere else). Only reason I re-upped for next year was because I'm not taking any Giannis year for granted and know it's a short window.

I'm guessing PR meant from the coaches perspective and protocol from not hiring a guy immediately after you fired your coach and only a few days after the coach you want to hire was fired. The bucks got in trouble for tampering and it was also a delicate situation with Bud. Would be bad if it looked like we already hired a coach before firing our coach. None of this is a rule, but I could see them doing it for a variety of reason (protocol, favors, free consulting) even if they are set on nurse.

Could have also been Nurse waiting on the lottery. Coaching Victor is possibly better than coaching the bucks. No one expect say the Pistons to win anything the next two years. You can spend 2 years building a team from scratch instead of having to work around Giannis faults and an aging flawed roster. You can't really mold the bucks clay into how you want it at this point. They are finished product with only tweaks that can be made.

It will be very interesting to see what we do with our medical staff if we hired Nurse. Does he throw them out and start with his own (often this is the case) or does he keep the same (extremely effective*) team?

I'm not trying to stir up the load management debate again, but it seems his methods would be somewhat opposed to what we had previously.
