Re: 2023 NBA Draft Thread 3
Can someone explain how a PG (Amen Thompson) can only shoot 56% free throws
Doesn’t a PG have to shoot at least 70% free throws to be legit
Doesn’t a PG have to shoot at least 70% free throws to be legit

i can see it a little legit. he was dealing with death threats during the NCAA tournament that you could see affected him. if he falls, someone will get good value when he is taken and gets back into shape

If Brandon Miller falls to Orlando, they will pass because he’s not Disney enough.

You'd need 6 + 11 to get players to surround him with in order to adjust to his flaws. That's what we're doing with Markelle and I don't see how Scoot is an upgrade over Markelle + 6 + 11. I don't think you can even make a case for it. If Scoot were a decent 3 point shooter or crazy playmaker, then I could try to see it, but he's just a raw athlete at this point.

He's got that dog in him. Huge hands. Great ball control. Terrific work ethic. Amazing in the pick and roll. He's a top tier level floor general prospect. And that archetype is exactly what would fit so well in our team. We have two 6'10 wings. Playmakers and scores that just need someone to run the pick and roll and get the ball to them in positions where they can create for themselves and others.Skin wrote:eyriq wrote:I will not conformSkin wrote:Please go back and delete your posts.

I agree. In that sense, we can take ONE single non-shooter, because we see the roster as Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, and maybe nothing else. As in, if we get Scoot, you get a starting 2 and 5 who can space. And two to three players off the bench who can space. And I don't know if any of the non-shooters deserve it THAT much (e.g., Scoot, Thompson twins, etc.).
I keep hammering this, but I really think the path forward is to make Paolo Banchero the POINT GUARD/FORWARD. There's no stopping his combination of skills and physical profile. And he's passing-orientated player. Sometimes playing the "value game" is making your pieces fit better and shine more than their individual self. THEN the value game opens up for crazy trades or signings if need be. So maybe we don't need a ball dominant point like Scoot. Maybe the best path is a more efficient, less usage Markelle as he keeps gaining in his offense/shooting.

I’ve got one for ya. 6’4 PG, scored 23ppg on 17 attempts in 36mpg. 5 attempts from 3 a game at 41%. 6.7ftas. Almost 6rpg and 6apg to go with 1.6spg and 1.2bpg.
We have a guy who has already played at the level we’re hoping other guys might reach. We know he can do that, but we don’t know if he can get back there. We really don’t know if some of these other guards can.

Re: 2023 NBA Draft Thread 3
Podziemski really looks like he has an NBA ready offense. The way he scores looks like it will translate well. He hits from deep with elite CnS numbers, great floater, crafty footwork and patience to get shots off, good eyes and ability to facilitate, crashes the boards.
I honestly don’t know why he isn’t in conversation for late lottery at least. He’s more versatile than Gradey, more accurate than George and Smith Jr. I feel like he should be getting more cred and attention.

6’5” PG also currently on the roster who averaged 17 PPG, 6 RPG, 6 APG, 2 SPG and drew 5.2 FTA per game *in the actual NBA* rather than in college.
Now imagine thinking this player or the player you’re referring to actually still exists
